Subnautica: Reaper Leviathan Observatory (Crash Zone)

Aurora's crash left a trail of destruction known as the Crash Zone. This massive debris field is still shrouded in murky waters which reduces visibility more than in any other zone by a wide margin. Although it virtually has no flora, it's very rich in resources and high-tier scannable fragments, as well as supply crates. However the crash has attracted a big number of one of the most dangerous predators in Subnautica: Reaper Leviathans. Here they can ambush their prey quite easily because of the low visibility environment. Nowhere else however do these beasts swim as close to the surface, and because of that, this particular place provides an opportunity to observe them from a surface level.... even so with caution.

I just realized, if you look at the shape of the tail, and not only that, but the skin of the reaper, you notice that the fin on it's tail isn't sideways, it's facing downward, the same as sea mammals. It also has no gills, it's skin has a smooth texture. Also, the reaper is the only creature who doesn't have an egg. Conclusion: the reaper is a mammal.

Something I noticed: in the beginning of the video, he uses that whole strafing maneuver to avoid the Reaper, and it doesn't ever catch him. Apparently, it's an old, but useful trick people have discovered in the game, which shows that Reapers aren't nearly as agile as you think, and it's fairly easy to avoid them if you're smart about it. And if you keep strafing around in circles long enough, the game's AI for the Reaper will eventually have it lose interest in you and continue it's patrol for a short while.

To be honest Reapers are actually very Beautiful Creatures. Their biology is so interesting, No gills but a fish like creature that means it breathes air. Effectively blind and the only way they can know what's around them is by roaring that's just fascinating to me. There's also something we don't know about the reapers that live around the Aurora. We don't know where they live, What I'm trying to say is we don't know what their habitat looked like, That means it could be up to interpretation on where these creatures thrive. There's so much about reapers that will never know that's why I liked them so much. Always loved the reapers always will.

I have been traumatized by the reaper leviathan, and I didn't even get attacked. I just heard it's roar in the distance and since it uses echolocation, it knew exactly where I was. I knew that I should run and not look behind me, so that's exactly what I did. Edit: I killed two.

I love this base. Now I want to build my own observatory out in the dunes where the water is clearer and brighter. I think I remember two Reapers in that zone.
