The depth in Oasis sleeves is incredible, the 00s albums/singles were certainly missing the Microdot charm!

Absolutely love that the dog had to have his best mate bought along to keep him in check...that's pretty rock and roll in itself.I do actually remember buying that single and being weirdly fascinated by the guy pushing the sink barrow full of fishes lol...so it's pretty cool to find out it was your dad. This whole video was brilliant tbh...every single time I see that Some Might Say cover I still smile...it's a beautiful image in its own right

Never caught the guitars in the windows before. This is why I always bought the Oasis 12" singles. The covers were an intrega part of the music. Single covers were an important part of youth culture from the Beatles to the sex pistols, clash,Damned, smiths etc... Sadly, Oasis sleeves were probably the last great singles artwork we will ever cherish.

I live ten minutes from this station, I’ve been with my 6 year old lad and recreated this sleeve with us in it, the Mrs was the photographer haha. Lovely part of the world and if your mad on oasis like myself, then it’s well worth a visit. While your there pay a visit to Matlock, it’s literally like being in a seaside town but inland without the beach, about 5 minutes drive from the station, bakewell is about 25 minutes depending on traffic, that’s also a lovely part of the world, stunning scenery and country lanes. You could spend an hole day visiting these places maybe 2 days, if your stopping over night then I’d stay in bakewell 👍🏻 enjoy 👍🏻

I love learning about all this background stuff, and it seems even more special to be learning about it in 2022 than if it were back then for some reason. I live really close to Cromford/Matlock, we call it the seaside without the sea and I noticed you mentioned it’s about as far from the sea as you can get. Maybe a visit to that station on the cards if it’s still there. I have one of your Be Here Now posters signed by Bonehead too, I’m hoping to visit in the summer!

Thank you very much for this informative video. I grew up gazing at all of the oasis covers in my obsession with the band. Always loved the artwork and concepts during the 94-98 era. Brilliant. The Oasis 12" sleeves were always great and were equal to the content on the records in my opinion, my favourite being Live Forever with the grainy B&W photo of the suburban house in the summer. The image on that cover is full of atmosphere and is so uniquely English and is a memory of those lazy hazy days in 94. Love the explanation of the concept of the Some Might Say cover as its so honest and unpretentious and is full of humour. I couldn't imagine Hipgnosis explaining how they came up with their art for the Floyd covers without going into an ethereal arty farty load of waffle :)

This is a superb video . Packed with loads of information and insight. Some Might Say is the archetypal Oasis sound. More like 'them' than any other song in my opinion. Massive layers of guitars, uplifting lyrics and Liam's iconic snarl at its best. The Glasto 95 rendition has always been my favourite live version and it's Whitey's second gig. Thanks for taking the time to put this together and I'm looking forward to my illustrated artwork arriving. Mike

Knowing South Manchester and Derbyshire well, I’m guessing you drove down the A6 from Stockport to Buxton before turning off to Cromford - which although sounds like a meaningless detail, actually has a mad little coincidence hidden in it for me. When I bought the CD single, me and my brother both remarked how similar the station looks to our local Newtown station in Derbyshire - which you would have driven straight past on your way to shoot this sleeve! I also lived on the street opposite Boneheads flat in Didsbury which was on the Definitely Maybe sleeve for 3 years - only finding out after I moved out!
