Here's another sunday morning call You hear yer head-a-banging on the door Slip your shoes on and then out you crawl Into a day that couldn't give you more But what for? And in your head do you feel What you're not supposed to feel And You take what you want But you don't get it for free You need more time Cause your thoughts and words won't last forever more But I'm not sure if it'll ever works out right But it's ok, it's all right When you're lonely and you start to hear The little voices in your head at night You will only sniff away the tears So you can dance until the morning light But at what price? And in your head do you feel What you're not supposed to feel And You take what you want But you wont get it for free You need more time Cause your thoughts and words won't last forever more But I'm not sure if it'll ever ever ever works out right If it'll ever ever ever works out right Cause it'll never never never works out right

I don’t see why Noel hates this song, sure it’s slow and a less optimistic mood than most Oasis songs, but this represents the headspace that Noel was in - he was on a comedown, he had just gotten clean. The result of this was this song, “Where Did It All Go Wrong?”, “Gas Panic!”, and “Roll It Over”. This is the moodiest and darkest Oasis album, and I love it for that - it shows the band (specifically Noel) in a very vulnerable position in time.
@gogolplex74 Жыл бұрын
I always thought he hated this song because he wrote it about his depression and he notoriously dislikes self-pitying music and so he saw it as a kind of betrayal of his ideals and musical motivations.

This song means so much to me. My brother and I were put in care, I was 13 or 14 at the time, and we went in because our Mum had a mental breakdown. I think this song was released when I was 15-16 and it helped to articulate how I felt about her, like it was an explanation that I / we understood, how she felt, what she 'wasn't supposed to feel' and her fear of what she had to say, not being heard or understood and it was, yet we were only kids. Such a great band, I don't know if they'll ever truly understand how they made people feel. I'm still not sure if it'll ever work out right and I have a kid of my own now, don't think I'll ever know, maybe that's the way it's supposed to be.

Whoah. This song really spoke to you an the experiences you had. The video was also magnificent. It illustrates the tragedy of mental illnesses so well. I really liked the bit where he's dancing in front of the tv, and the consultant nods and says let him have this. It really made me smile and got me misty eyed. Good luck to you brother. You've come from a very hard place and made a home for yourself. You should be very proud of yourselves.

I live in Bradford, a little 30 minute drive from Manchester, and I always thought oasis were a very northern English niche band. The messages from all around the world on here is eye opening. We may live different lives, in different cultures, with different environments, but we are all human, and we all feel those I herenrkt human things like sadness, loss, grief... We aren't all that different.. I love you all. each of your messages, whether to express your struggles, your joys, your situations and your dreams, each message reminds this still suffering addict that we are never alone. just isolated.

Not sure of your age, but they were the biggest band in the world for awhile. Just look at the size of the shows that Liam is still playing all around the world.

I went to see oasis in America and they flopped badly. The America public just didn't get it, but rest assured, I've always loved them and knew their legendary status. I just never knew they were so loved all around the world. I thought they were a proper British band.

I was 14 when they released definitely maybe, so I lived through the peak of oasis. I just never realised they were so loved worldwide.

Ace ending to this video, when all the band get together at the end, and Liam pretends to be playing the piano haha What a time to be alive

Amazing song, have no idea why Noel hates it. The whole Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants album is just really underrated in general.

Probably Noel being Noel, I don't think Noels ever answered a question 100% truthfully on his life. Doesn't give Anything away and doesn't let anybody in.

For those like me who suffered from "mental disorders", listening to this song can only feel an extreme sense of loneliness...People don't understand that one can be reliable people,emotionally stable despite suffering from an important mental disorder, and that there is no relationship with the dangerousness of the individual ... Hypothesis: "jealousy", "possessiveness" are not mental disorders, yet many of the murders and crimes on TV are committed because of these two factors...I would like these people to be more interested in this discourse, also because no one is truly exempt from it.."Boys and Girls","Men and Women" hold on don't let yourself be crushed by prejudice, mental disorder can make you special people...

It’s kinda strange, but I stopped listening to early oasis, their last albums are amazing, and I think this album is one of their best, maybe even the best. This, falling down, I’m outta time, lyla, the importance of being idle, who feels love, and gas panic are my favorites.

Omg.. Sunday Morning ,.....callin.. 'And in your head do you feel , what your not supposed to feel, And you take what you want...but you don't get it for free..... I absolutely love this song

I can't believe Noel recently described this as a song he particularly hates, based on the fact that it's a cliché on previous work. I absolutely love this song and haven't heard it in a long time. I'm such a big fan I genuinely cant find any songs by oasis that are bad. I guess that's me being bias based on my huge admiration of the group as a whole. #bring back Oasis for a last reunion🙌👏 PRAISE
