These healthy Oats Idlis come together in just 30 minutes. A perfect weekend Breakfast for those who want to eat nutritious but tasty food
Full Ingredient List
FOR OATS IDLI
1 Cup Instant Oats
1/2 Cup Semolina
1/2 Cup Curd
1 Teaspoon Oil
1 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds
1/4 Teaspoon Asafoetida
1 Teaspoon Chana Dal
1 Teaspoon Urad Dal
1 Tablespoon Chopped Cashews
Few Curry Leaves
1 Teaspoon Chopped Ginger
1 Green Chilli
Few Coriander Leaves
1 Grated Carrot
salt to taste
1/4 Teaspoon Baking Soda
Juice of half Lemon
FOR GREEN COCONUT CHUTNEY
1Cup fresh Coconut chunks
1 Cup Fresh Coriander Leaves
2 Tablespoon Thick Curd
2 Tablespoon Roasted Chana
1 Inch Ginger
1 Green Chilli
Salt to Taste
1/2 Cup Water
For Tadka
1 Teaspoon Oil
1 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds
1/4Teaspoon Asafoetida
1/2 Teaspoon Chana Dal
1/2 Teaspoon Urad Dal
Some Curry Leaves
Method
1. Grind the oats to a fine powder
2. In a pan, add oil and add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Then add asafoetida, ginger, chana dal, urad dal, cashews and curry leaves. Roast on low flame until they turn golden in colour.
2. Add Oats flour and semolina and roast on medium flame until they turn fragrant. Turn off the flame and transfer it into a bowl immediately.
3. When it cools down, add carrot, green chilli, chopped coriander, curd, salt and water, Mix well and let the batter rest for 15 minutes.
4. The batter will soak up all the liquid. Add more water to make a dropping consistency batter.
Add baking soda and lemon juice to fluff up the batter. Make the idlis as shown in the video.
5. In a grinder, add all the ingredients of coconut chutney and grind into a paste. Now heat oil in a pan and add all ingredients of the tadka. Immediately pour over the chutney.
