Dave & Ash, I love your reactions and your humor! Back in the day, they were true musicians! It sounds cliche' but the artists actually had talent! They all did, competing for sales and airtime on the radio against other talented individuals, groups and bands. That's how you get 'iconic' musical decades like the 70's and 80's - music that's still being listened to and loved 40 and 50 years later!

Thank you so much for reacting to this. I was in high school here in North Carolina (America) when this song first came out in 1981. I remember it well. My girlfriend and I at the time loved attending concerts. It was one of the things we loved doing together. My wife loved concerts as well during that time. My girlfriend at the time and I attended their show in Charlotte on this tour in September 1981. It was great. There were a huge number of wonderful groups at the time and concerts were not very expensive to attend. Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Boston, Journey, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Triumph, 38 Special, Foreigner, and many others. I can not describe to you what a wonderful time it was to be young then. We were happier, relationships were closer, life was more carefree, and the music was spectacular. My heart just aches that young people will not get to experience life as we did as teenagers in the 70’s/80’s. Our 4 adult children (29-33) are big fans of 70’s-80’s music like my wife and I are. It’s great, lol. Again, thank you so much for posting this video. It was a wonderful treat.

You 2 should give a listen to Mother Father by Journey at the same concert . Steve always said that Mother Father is the hardest song he sang . Didn't sound too hard . According to Steve , he sings the whole song in his upper range . The 2 guitar solos during the songs allowed him to have a break . This concert was recorded for their live album and was even aired live on the radio . Back in the days of recording music on cassettes .

@nancywyatt82110 ай бұрын
@@stuckinarkansas1 Well, maybe their niche was filled by The Scorpions, or maybe it was an incompetent booking agent. When Steve asked him, "Why do they keep spitting on my shoes?" He said that means they like you. The funny thing is, they did, but were afraid to admit it to their friends. Steve "Jonesy" Jones of the Sex Pistols was a big fan, but was afraid of getting his a$$ kicked if anyone found out. He told Perry all about it when he interviewed him for Jonesy's Jukebox, and poured out his heart about how he saved his life with his music when he was going cold turkey off heroin and alcohol.
