@LadyCoyKoi3 жыл бұрын
Even today with Covid-19 dangers ad yet many Rep states are like, "We don't care about your kids... Go to on campus school or we will de-fund your asses!" They are pushing the privatization of every public service... services that have been around serving the communities for the last 100 years and shown potential and goodness for communities and the nation as a whole. People underestimate and take for granted of the public services we use daily. Go to third world nations where they don't have public schools and parents have to work five times more to send their kids to schools for better opportunities. Kids in the US take for granted what they have (parents in the US as a whole don't teach their kids the basics, the school does!!!). In other nations, most kids are going around collecting garbage to earn money or work in horrid factories to support themselves and their families. I hope US kids don't take for granted what they have compare to most kids in this world. In comparison, only about 5% of the whole world population have a decent education background. Under 1% has some sort of degree. Then there are percentage of people who actually get to use those degrees and experiences. I blame the monetary-market system for the low quality of life humans are living in today. We could do so much more than this. #ResourceBasedEconomy, #Hydroponics, #Automation, #SocioCyberEngineering, #VenusProject, #JacqueFresco

I barely survived public schools in NC, not to mention my father and sisters gaslighting me by defending them after they had put me with "assistants" who subjected me to repeated physical and emotional cruelty, pressured my parents into making me take toxic big pharma pills from the age of 11 (which caused me to gain weight I didn't lose until my mid-20s), and sided with my bullies every single time I got in a fight. It is not shocking that they care more about money than whether kids actually learn anything they can use in the real world or whether or not the food they feed kids is fit to eat. The low-carb people need to start advocating for better school lunches. This cannot go on. When I was a kid, at least school nurses didn't need to figure out how to use defibrillators.

I wish this was obvious but it is not. It’s what does my body do with those calories rather than counting calories. And why can a skinny person eat horribly but NOT gain weight? It’s the specific metabolic pathways including insulin. Link to false science video mentioned earlier. kzbin.info/www/bejne/q32Uaq2GmsSgfdE

Asherah 1147 where did you get your info that butter molecules broken down are differently stored as triglycerides than Olive oil? Also, fat cells split once they’ve reached their capacity. Lastly, the body isn’t lazy. Please do tell where you’ve got your info about being able to determine stored butter oil vs stored olive oil.
@bethanyday34714 жыл бұрын
@@kellyjohnson4578 actually....the body is quite lazy. it will always take the path of least resistance, just like water. you see these clearly in how we burn energy. we can either burn glucose (carbohydrates, simple sugars) or we can burn ketones (through ketosis, the process of which break down fat into usable energy called ketones) and the body will ALWAYS choose glucose (that and our brain cant run purely on ketones, it requires glucose) before going to ketones. It'll even break down proteins into glucose before going to ketones. And it is true that a scientist can tell if your fat cells came from animal fats or plant fats. very interesting stuff. while all calories are technically the same, the body is not likely to take the very difficult path of taking the broccoli calories and turning them into fat cells over just burning them via thermogenesis. The body would have to go through multiple processes to turn the glucose from broccoli into triglycerides for storage as fat. Whereas fat is already fat and does not need to be converted and can thereby just be stored for later.

13:04 Calories mean nothing if you do not know where they come from. Counting calories is one of the poorest ways to maintain a healthy weight. It was a failed experiment and we need to move on to more advanced methods to stay fit and healthy

It is not just too much food and not enough exercise. It's the KIND of foods they're eating. If you stop fast food, stop soda & convenience/processed food you will be amazed at the result. And stop eating all the damn time! And there was NEVER a soda machine in my school, that's crazy. We had water fountains. With what is known about the detriment to health of sugary sodas, you'd think this wouldn't even be an issue.

Calorie issue is over rated in this documentary. This sends wrong message about the true cause of overweight or shall I say.... overfat

Tbh… the narrative of this dated documentary, is a prime example of the actual two issues; Food is for nourishment, not for entertainment and as a cure for boredom, and people have lost/forgotten what real food and common sense eating is. The latter point deserves some added comment here, while the former goes fairly well just with observation… A clear sign that people have forgotten what proper food is, is that they resort to prepared and partially prepared meals when spending their money, yet another is that the “limited defined number of meals per day”, is for a lot of people also a foreign concept. Yet another sign is the lack of fresh and varied ingredients (not prepared or half prepared) available in any typical supermarket or market… So following the narrative of this documentary, which is at the heart of the problem - Losing sight of what proper food is, leads people to measure their food-choices by calories, fat, sugar, while no truly healthy food can be chosen by any one factor, yet alone those mentioned. So, it’s another example of “If you can’t measure what matters, then make whatever you can measure matter”… But this has nothing to do with proper food or food culture, not in the slightest!

Here is the deal: To get healthy you MUST adopt a new philosophy i.e a new way of looking at and living life! By going Plant Based you step into a healthy, vibrant and exciting way to eat & live. There is an entire world of people who will welcome you with open arms and root for your success. You will cultivate a sense of respect & honor for your body and the planet. You can use the carrot & the stick to influence your actions: by watching how animals are terrorized and abused, you will NEVER look at meat or milk the same way. BY watching health videos\documentaries, you will become inspired to do more and drive forward in your health journey. Bottom line: trying to go healthy half way, does not work! You MUST go all in! You have to turn your life around but you need a new philosophy and a support group because seldom can you do this alone.Vegan groups such as the Vegan Challenge, will help you. I am rooting for you! You can do this! Start now, all it takes is a decision!

Anyone notice that the documentary itself makes you want to go buy a burger, fries or something. Maybe some of these documentaries should tone down the amount of imagery and the confessions of people who say a good ole hamburger, etc... It's like explaining how bad it's for our health while making it look so good. 😏

That nutritionist is 50% wrong. It is not all about calories and counting them. What matters is the rtpe of food that is eaten. 85gms of fat is needed if it healthy fats. With little to no carbs. And we know Monica was taking breaks off that treadmill to not ruin her makeup. Seriously

why? it is easy.. if you take less calories than you burn, you lose weight. there.
@Gardol24 жыл бұрын
the human body does not burn anything(so the term "burn" is wrong, the human body is not a furnace) the body oxidizes body fat. the body absorbs the type foods you eat and if you eat a species specific diet you will not get fat or under nourished.

Went keto 5 years ago with the partnership of my endocrinologist. Other than 2020 and 2021 dealing with cancer technically I have gone from 352 lbs to 183 lbs so far in 3 years. It is slower now due to hypothyroidism, past menopause with hysterectomy and continued hormone therapy. But still working on it. I am not doing this only for weight loss. Doing it to control health issues...they won't disappear, just trying to manage it a lot better.
