The Stormtrooper accuracy through the fire is even worse when one considered they actually have polarized lenses and aim assist specifically for the purposes of fighting in these sorts of environments (such as smoky/dusty area); the boarding of the Tantive IV is often used as an example, the Stormtroopers have a much higher rate of accuracy compared to the rebels down the corridor since they do not have to worry about the flash of the bolts or the smoke therein, since they can essentially see through them.

@@Eric6761 There is very little worse than being bisected about the middle in a classic Sai Tok. Losing a limb via Cho Mok or Cho Sun (What Obi-Wan actually performed was a mostly-successful Mou Kei) was much less fatal than losing your entire entrails to Sai Tok. Anakin lost his limbs and had his skin melted. Both treatments we could theoretically fix today without magic healy water and sci-fi equipment. Maul had no complex medical intervention. He was cut in half at the stomach, potentially damaging a considerable number of organs but absolutely certainly sealing at one of his intestines. Something he wasn't treated for. As far as we know Maul's treatment was stapling a plate to himself and being angry in a filthy cave. Anakin was found quickly and given the best medical intervention the single most powerful being in the galaxy could supply with the resources held by the single largest government in the galaxy. His healing was seen to, his equipment is where Sidious purposefully hampered him.

One thing to note is that not every blatant mistake is the writers' fault. While it's up in the air how much freedom they were given to write action sequences, so stuff like Leia's chase and the chase of the Jedi on Tatooine might entirely be their fault for not actually coming up with any ideas on how to do it, something like the sequence ~ 33:50 is very much not on the writers. Based on the location, the script probably only said: 1) They're having this fight in someone's closed off backyard (there are mounds on both sides, so they were clearly trying to set up some enclosure) and 2) they wrote, in the script, before the filming was done that a stormtrooper should remark that they can't see anything through the fire and there is no way around. From that point on, it's the special effects and set departments' fault along with the director's that that sequence makes no sense, because it would have been the job of the director to communicate the script's needs to the set department, whose job it would have been to make it so any fire set up in the center can't just casually be circled around on the very climbable looking mounds on either side, and of course then the special effects team's job to make the fire actually spread out far enough in either direction that there are no obvious ways around. The particular issue of what the stormtrooper says, and how badly the set is set up for what's supposed to be going on in the scene is not the writing team's fault. (Though Vader's coming and going recollection of the fact that he can just blow out fire with the force is.)

For darth vader, one reason (I'm playing devil's advocate) is that using the force is draining. Though vader doesn't show it, it is very possible that he is exhausted from using the force to pull the second ship, so either he pulls the second ship into exhaustion and be vulnerable to an attack, or lets it go out of self preservation.

Irresponsible people tend to have the most children... It's kind of disgusting. Glad you're on your feet! Thanks for the video.

Imagine seeing this show without knowing anything about Star Wars and understanding this is a prequel.

1 benefit of this coming up late is that you can see that Reva is portrayed as impulsive & trigger-happy as a bad thing, yet more portrayals of Inquisitors later on made them no worse than her. Inquisitors can be as terroristic as they feel like if making them hyper evil serves the story, any line they feel like they shouldn't cross is arbitrary. It takes 0 skills to write that faction. They get redeemed on just as much of a whim. It kinda makes me think that Reva wasn't portrayed as doing bad her job in the mind of the writer, but that her bosses were being hard on her in an unfair manner to makes us gain some sympathy (in the mind of the writer). If this was the intent then it flew over the heads of everyone I know, and I want to believe they wouldn't be that stupid, but, you know.
