Chancellor Palpatine... encouraging Anakin Skywalker to kill Count Dooku...and Anakin... having a brief moment of conscience, before going against his training, and obeying the command of Chancellor Palpatine... That should've given Anakin Skywalker a little clue, as to who, or rather, what, Chancellor Palpatine was, right then and there! However, Anakin wasn't as perceptive in that moment, as he should've been. This was the start of his eventual downfall...and, slowly but surely, things only became worse for Anakin Skywalker. The movie shows us that, right around the halfway mark, Anakin Skywalker becomes Darth Vader, a cruel, sadistic, and very vengeful young Sith Lord, with plenty of anger, aggression, and hate, all boiling up within him, and ruining whatever it touched.

This was all coordinated to the minute by Palpatine. He needed one last look at Anakins skills as he was to replace Dooku immediately, Anakin didn’t disappoint even though he showed hesitation Palpatine knew he’d “dew it” and become his apprentice, a shame Dooku didn’t just speak up, I mean why not? He was obviously being betrayed.

I think it’s very telling right here Chancellor for a second reveals his darker side. Anakin who is obviously struggling through dark and light side has a blue and red light saber in his hands. And follows the Sith Lords orders to strike down his apprentice. Basically the initial fall of Anakin and his turning to the dark side and becoming the next Sith

Dooku realized what Palpatine's plan was right as he said that. Dooku's options were to either betray his master and go to prison with no hands for the rest of his life or let the sith's plan unfold. Sith rule is right by might so he probably realized he'd been thoroughly bested.

Probably didn’t think he was really about to die and that Anakin wouldn’t kill him & that the emperor would help him escape. That’s why he had a shocked face. I think it should’ve been Anakin who was missing and on the loose, killing and helping Palpatine with his dark and sinister plans. The Jedi Council supposedly knew there was dark energy around Chancellor Palpatine, wouldn’t him being “captured” by Dooku just look really suspicious and ridiculous? Anakin Skywalker should’ve become Darth Vader instantly when he slaughtered the Sandpeople. It would’ve made a lot more sense if he completely flipped to the dark side then. Once his mother died and he acted in rage. Dooku could’ve died in Geonosis and bam, Anakin’s on the loose killing everyone Sidious says to save the day for the rule of two. One master, one apprentice.

The connection between Qui-Gon Jin and Dooku and Obi-Wan is why Dooku didn't. Frankly, Sidious sensed Dooku's lack of complete ruthlessness and thus felt Anakin would be the MUCH stronger #2 man.

i have NEVER understood at 1:23 why Obi Wan never grabbed Dooku with a Force Choke or use the force to I dunno pull Dooku up in the air and throw him across the room. The rinse and repeat whike anakin cuts Dooku in half?

Palpatine hit him with a force technique right beforehand with that random bark or something while they were fighting after the droids, and also they're supposed to protect themselves from force techniques during combat Obi-wans running gag is he keeps forgetting to do this and gets thrown somewhere during a fight.

At least this is what I seem to remember. In the theatres, I saw episodes IV, V and VI when they came out in 1977, 1980 and 1983, respectively. I was aged 14 to 20. Then they waited almost 20 years to bring out I, II and III, and then another 20 years to bring out VII, VIII and IX. I think they did this in order to draw more generations into the Star Wars viewership and therefore make more $$$. Personally I outgrew this type of movie long ago. I have seen part of the Phantom Menace on regular TV, but none of the other movies. I am too old for this. There are still middle-aged people who go wild for all of the 9 movies, though, LOL. @@CradaOC

@@jackturner3867 ok I found a way to explain it to you. In that exact scene, Anakin, when he have Duku at his mercy, he is already less angry. Is emotion is clearly of confusion. He is conflicted. So just saying Do it will be not enough. You will need to bring him back to that angry state. In other well written movie, the other guy yell at him, tell him how bad he is. It’s more believable but also much more compelling with tension. Will he do it???
