That's very in-character. Qui-Gon was a gentle and encouraging and humane soul ("come on, we've got a ways to go") by generally-chilly Jedi standards, but also rather blunt and prone to sharp or teasing humour, traits he perhaps inherited from his own Masters Dooku & Yoda.
@DeadlCheemborg

Seems like that entire Master-Padawan bloodline has always been snarky/sassy Yoda's been shown to have some snarkiness, and Dooku the embodiment of superiority so he also has so much sass on him, then he passed onto Qui Gon, then to Obi Wan (A Sassy master), then to Anakin (Another Sassy master), to Ahsoka and potentially Sabine

Something I just realized - this episode marks the return of both Qui-Gon and Palpatine. Both appear as light blue apparitions. And yet one appears using technological means, while the other appears via spiritual means. I think this does a great job of highlighting the contrasts of both characters - while they both serve separately as mentors to the protagonist and antagonist, the medium by which they appear also emphasizes the Sith fixation on material power, technology, and wealth, and the Jedi's deeper connection to the spiritual aspects of the Force.

And it turns out it's a quick scene, as if Qui Gon and Kenobi are once again Master and Padawan, respectively. Just on another routine task like the old days. The simplicity of the scene is actually what makes it so emotional. They pick up right where they left off. It's so beautiful.

Matching cadence. Hayden always considered this in his Anakin voice. His words should flow with the same rhythm as Jones' Vader performance, so we can imagine they are the same person with a voice changer.

Finally Disney figured out Star Wars. To move forward you have to pay tribute to what came before, not capitalize on it. The sequel trilogy carried all the echos of the previous saga but none of its sentiment. Perhaps now we can finally move forward and create a new cinematic era, one that will be beautiful and meaningful, perhaps now we can have hope again.

@@ShadowWolfIsTheGOAT No, they were paying tributte to the orginal history and keeping it intact. Instead of going yolo like the seuqels. Prequels had lightsaber duels, Obi Wan, Qui Gon, Padme, Yoda, Young Vader, Maul. Classics had Vader, Han Solo, Luke, Leia, Sidious, Chewbacca and 3PO. Sequals have nothing memoriable, not fights, not duels, not characters. The sequels destroyed the sentiment about old characters fhiting the history, instead of embracing it and giving people what they wanted. Instead of we get story about Rei, who you cannot relate with, trying to find out who she is when you the relationship has not been established and you don't care. We get random clone tropper rebeling who you do not know either and they just throw you into combat without telling you anything about them. Luke yolo, Han solo no caring, Leia yolo, Rei following script trying to find who she is.... when you dont even care about her, Quin being a lost cause, something about Sidious coming back.

Did anyone else notice the very slight subtle hint of Qui-Gon's theme in the background when he appears and turns. Ever so slightly and slow but I'm glad they added that part.🥰

Vader's mask getting damaged and the words shared between him and Obi-Wan has probably become one of my favorite scenes in all of Star Wars. Say what you want about the rest of the series, but this specific moment is perfectly written, directed, and acted. Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen have such good on-screen chemistry. Ewan nails Alec Guiness' speech pattern perfectly. Hayden gets a lot of flak for the prequels sometimes but honestly it's the dialogs fault and not his. George Lucas wrote some wonky lines for that role in the prequel/ INTERSTELLAR Main Theme Guitar kzbin.info/www/bejne/rpelZXiwbq6Uf5I Killing Arasaka... | Cyberpunk 2077 Rebel Path Guitar MV kzbin.info/www/bejne/jmTCe6WOrNdnoZI Alucard and Trevor Battle Baroque Guitar MV (Lost Cathedral) kzbin.info/www/bejne/gaqlg42Jg898fNU

Actually I bought a comic (Graphic novel) back when Revenge of the Sith came out and it was the comic about the movie and there he actually talks to Qui Gon. So they just didn‘t bring this scene in the movie but in the comics there was a scene between obi wan and qui gon talking.

Continuity difference between The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones: Ten years Time difference between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith: three years Time difference between Revenge of the Sith and Kenobi: Ten years. Time difference between the premiere of The Phantom Menace (1999) and the premiere of Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022): 23 years. Nice move by the writers they made Obi-Wan wait the same amount of time to see Qui-Gon again the same time difference between the Phantom Menace and this series.

You can't fully understand unless you were born in the early 90's at least. The prequels get unnecessary Nickelback like hate but damn it i will never forget watching Maul bust out the double saber on the big screen as a child. And the video games. The prequel era was imo the best era for SW fans. Seeing Liam Neeson as qui gon again, even for just a minute, was very emotional for me.

Although it brings me such great joy to see Liam Neeson on screen again as Qui-Gon Jinn, his force ghost is not supposed to be there; he told Yoda during TCL that he cannot physically manifest as a ghost due to his training being incomplete. He was only able to reveal himself on Mortis due to the planet itself being a conduit for the force.

🥲 great to see Obi Wan see his master again 🥲 Obi wan could possibly be the Greatest Jedi apprentice of all time,the example of what a Jedi Padawan should be in all ways,the respect Obi Wan had for qui Gon is unlatched .even Luke Bytchd at obi wan a cpl times but obi wan always listened,never disobeyed,stood by his master even when they council was against him. Obi wan without missing a beat assured the council that his master speaks the truth,and by doing this he gives qui Gon another weapon to use against the council even tho obi wan agrees with council and would t go against the council..in that moment his master needed him and obi wan was there🥹 without looking back qui gonwm was like "obi wan is ready" 😈 I have faith in my apprentice
