I get the sense that Reva knows about Anakin because in the Order 66 flashback, she was probably one of the younglings. So she might have seen Anakin slaughtering Jedi in the temple.

This episode made me think about Leia’s messages in episode IV. It’s very formal and regal, and then…”help me, Obi-wan Kenobi. You’re my only hope.” It’s such a personal entreaty. So watching this episode I was thinking “well of course! She knows him!” So much thought and heart in this.

That initial look on Obi-Wan's face when he learned Anakin is alive was the most "I am so screwed" look ever. The second close up was a look of sadness, knowing his failure will come back to haunt him.

I also really feel like, in that instant, he reached out in the force to try and sense Anakin again. He'd spent 10 years thinking he'd killed his best friend who he'd raised and trained from a boy basically the same age as Luke/Leia are now. That cut straight to Vader opening his eyes felt very intentional to me in that Obi-Wan, now knowing Anakin survived, reached out and Anakin/Vader felt that and 'awoke'

Oh and while he sort-of "got Leia back", remember that they're on a droid ship going to a pre-set destination where - somebody - would help them, according to Haja. Actually getting Leia back to Alderaan and Ben back to Tatooine without further 'Imperial entanglements' could take the rest of the episodes.

Luke doesn't remember meeting Obi-Wan. They might have encountered one another when Luke was 3-5. By EpIV Luke doesn't know Kenobi, but he knows of someone named Old Ben Kenobi who lives quite far away. The name has come up via the Jawas or Toshi enough to be remembered.

@@DoremiFasolatido1979 Bryce is downright amazing - some of my favorite cinematography in Mandalorian is on her episodes. To be fair, we only got all this great new content because Lucasfilm was open to bringing in new talent and giving them a chance, so I'm excited to see new directors/writers coming and I think we should be a little a open-minded too. And to also be fair, let's not forget that it was Kennedy who gave us this Kenobi show - she was smart enough to scrap the previous draft and get Deborah to direct this one instead. If we're going to pile on her for the mistakes that were made, we also need to acknowledge her good moves - nothing gets greenlit at Lucasfilm without her blessing, including the good stuff we like. I think they were shaky in the beginning, but they have good people working on it now, and I think they've found their stride.

I also love how the show clearly points out that Leia, despite being only 10, is more mature and smarter behind her years. Specially in the scene with her cousin, she could "sense" what was going through her cousin's head and why he acted the way he did. The way the show is subtly hinting at Leia's Force sensitivity is great, and not only is she Force sensitive, she is apparently quite strong with it, because even Obi Wan is surprised at how intuitive she is for her age, likely moreso than other younglins he has met

I think the first ep did an amazing job of capturing how isolated Obi Wan has become and the day to day drudgery of his life while still being tormented by the past. Now, in ep 2, he’s back in and us seeing how rusty his Force abilities have become. Notice Leia wasn’t too far from hitting the ground when his Force abilities kicked in. His plans to save Leia and return to his isolation have now gotten blown up knowing that the man, the brother he loved who he thought he killed is alive AND has been searching for him. Excited to see how the rest of the show unfolds.

More importantly, think back to the first episode, the scene with the younglings. Why was that scene there? I don't think it was there just to show us a different take on order 66, Reva is like one of the younglings we saw there running for her life. Anakin didn't kill all the younglings. He killed those who resisted and kept the ones that didn't and made them his Inquisitors. At least, that's how I see things shaping out.

His skin grafts are purposefully defective and constantly going necrotic, leading to constant pain and itchiness and the necessity for routine bacta-tanks and med-droid sessions. His limb stumps were also allowed to improperly heal, leading to constant pain every time he walks, shifts his weight.....or just stands there. Post-suit Vader is a life of actual constant agony. Arguably deserved, considering. But still agony.

I have a theory on why Reva seems to know more stuff from the past and has this somewhat unfounded hatred for Obi-Wan. When the Grand Inquisitor scolded her in this episode and later when Obi-Wan told Leia that some Inquisitors are ex-Jedi, hunting their own, it reminded me of the opening scene with the younglings in episode 1. It totally makes sense for Reva to have been a youngling in training that chose the Empire over death when she was a child after order 66, that's why she know about the legends that were Obi and Anakin and what they did. As for her motives I really don't know. Its just a theory tho.

I doubt it was a red herring, they don't put stuff like that in for no reason. The only thing I hope is that they don't put 3rd sister too much into the front and take away screen time from Ewen. I'm find with a story about the 3rd sister (even though her angle feels a bit too much like 2nd sister from Fallen Order to me 'oh no the jedi didn't help me so I'm mad at them now') But.. if they keep the balance and give Ewen enough time and make 3rd sister interesting and make her a link between obi wan and Anakin, then I'm fine with it. And yes she most likely knew Anakin before he became vader (he was pretty famous during the war and was a council member at the end after all). And if she saw him during the temple attack it should be pretty obvious to her. I mighly doubt she'd dare call him Anakin Skywalker in his presence though...

How Reva/Third Sister knows Anakin is Vader... The very first person we see in this show...is Reva, as a Jedi Youngling. As Reva is escaping, she witnesses Anakin slaughter some of her group, and hear the clones call him Lord Vader on coms. AND/OR She hides well, and stays hidden, and witnesses Yoda and Obi Wan at the temple, watching the hologram of Anakin's deeds.

I'm not sure this is a bad idea or not, but it would be kind of interesting to have a west-wing like series about Leia called Senator Organa dealing with how she navigates the politics while also showing how Leia supports the rebellion. Season 1 could be about Bael and basically him showing her the ropes of navigating the issues and contributing to the rebels; so we see what kind of leader Bael is. Then by the end of season 2 it could be about Leia and seeing the kind of leader (as aSentator) she becomes.

I like that they are tying things together better in the shows, if not the movies. In BOBF Ahsoka said that if Grogu wasn't trained then his Force attunement would eventually atrophy and disappear. And here, Obi-Wan's abilities have faded due to lack of use.
