Joe Cole till this day has to be one of my favourite Chelsea players, the first game I ever watched live at the Bridge was the one against Liverpool in 2004 when he scored the decisive winning goal in the 2nd half(he briefly mentions this game in the podcast), we went absolute mental in the stands, ended up getting that season's away shirt with his name/number on the back a few days later. Joy of a player to watch in his peak.

He banged in another winning goal against the same team, a week after that.

Joe Cole what a player, top top player. I think he was the most skillful English player. I remember I read the newspaper at school here in Malaysia with the headline "JOE GOAL" after he scored the winning goal against Liverpool in 2007 UCL semi final at home. He came back from that long injury on his last season 09/10 and he was never the same player he was, lost his pace and skills. Gutted to see him left for Liverpool. That goal against Norwich, Sweden, and both title winning goal against United 2006/2010. Thanks legend for entertaining my childhood. And keep up the podcast, happy to see our legends here and share their memories.

If Boehly can hang around in Twitter spaces with a bunch of Chelsea fans, I sure as hell hope he is watching these videos of these two Chelsea legends speak regarding Conor Gallagher. There are some things you cannot monetize and the thoughts of selling him, will only tank this squad down the table even further. Also a great idea, its about time these guys talk to the Chelsea fans in public. They do plenty of business interviews talking about Chelsea, so now is the time to talk to the fans directly.
@c_nyak2410 ай бұрын
Conor Gallagher is nowhere close to the level of these players…nor will he ever reach this level. Joe Cole was a fantastic Chelsea player and I think he sees himself in Conor in regards to him being a cfc fan then player…but that’s all they have in common. Joe was a winner for us and Conor hasn’t helped us get close to winning a single thing. If…WHEN we get £50m he’s outta here and good riddance 🙌🏿

Arjen Robben was magic for about 4 months, he never fully recovered after that Mokeana injury though. Confidence took a huge dent. J.Cole was a genius too. Some of the stuff he was doing in 05/06, Robben's injury allowed him to grab the chance to fully express himself. Swings and roundabouts.

I live in the united states and as a chelsea fan back when I lived in Nigeria, I'd pray Jose picked Joe over Arjen just to see them flicks. That pre-season when he got hurt in 2006 against some MLS all-star team broke my heart. My favorite moment was the goal when we done united in the 06 3-0 title winning game as he lead us before Uncle Carvalho scored that perfect CF gorgeous goal with one of the quickest and passionate counter attacking goal. Agreed about one of the owners coming out and talking to the fans. They obviously care about the club and want it to succeed, so after we win a game at home, boehly or Egbali needs to come out and say " thank you for the support, heres what it means to us, now let me tell you about the vision for the team...". It will change expectations from the fans (in a good way) and there will be less abuse towards the developing players and manager after a poor performance.
