Thank you so very much for your teachings Imam Ally. It was your debates against the Christians that was the final factor in my conversion to Islam. It was a five year journey going from Christian to Torah/Jewish Observant to Islam. Allah called me and I felt his calling in my spirit. It wasn’t clear but my heart and mind were open to hearing him, researching, studying and finally finding what he wanted. He wanted me to come back to him. I’m so proud to be a new Muslim and finally I feel at home. MashaAllah ❤️ thank you so much for being such a blessed person in many lives.

@@3angelcode "it is the words of Dr. Shabir Ally that helped shape my decision to convert to Islam." Alhamdulillah! But, we REVERT to Islam and never CONVERT because we are all born towards a NATURAL disposition called FITRA in Islam. When we return to Islam we reject nothing except BAD THINGS that harms self, others, the soul and the heart! DOGMA makes no sense to me when it is blind or fanatical or extreme. Dr. Shabir Ally is a human of great knowledge and faith, and I praise Allah for that, and thank and respect Dr. Ally for that. But, I always have my objections when I see dogma blinding many. Maybe the reason is because I do not share much of the FAITH of others! But, I will always remain a STAUNCH MUSLIM, NO MATTER WHAT! With much respect and CHRISTIC-MUSLIM LOVE BAFS

"Thus says The Holy One, your Redeemer: Beloved, My treasure, My most beloved ones, here I am! Hear Me! I am poured out like wax before the fire; like a candle, I am dripping with tears! Yet you have not come to Me! My love was poured out, My spirit fell like rain upon the nations... Tears and great mourning... I poured Myself out to heal the nations! Blood and tears, pools of blood, the agony of My passion, My love put on open display! Yet who is healed in My love? Where is the harvest among the nations, according to the latter rain? It withers, blighted wheat waning in the heat of the noonday sun, planted in the hard and cracked ground, revealing the broken roots thereof; the rains have ceased and are withheld from the land, the hand of The Holy One removed. Captive children, held fast by the pride and arrogance of men whose hearts remain far from Me, shackled to a world of bitter enmity against God and His Messiah, refusing My Letters of Love, stopping your ears to My voice... Weeping and many tears... I had set you free! Behold, I have freely given! I have not ceased from calling to you through My spirit and by the pen of My prophets, yet you will not listen, nor will you give heed! Even you, O churches of men, will in no wise hear Me, nor are you able! - Arrogant assemblies! DEAF CHILDREN! Bitter children, amiss in your dealings with Me, I love you, yet you refuse Me still In favor of your own way!... Peoples of this world, and all pastors And teachers and leaders among men, You are forsaken, given up to the fire... The fires of My own correction, The harsh discipline of The Father, The day of refinement and tears. I love you, yet you have not known Me; neither do I see of Myself in you... Our hearts torn. For I see your hearts, beloved, I see and know. Behold, I have searched, and have not found even one tittle of that which is of Me! Cry out, therefore! Call out to your Savior! Call upon your Maker in My name! DIE TO YOURSELVES! Forsake this world and run to Me through the fire, and I shall abide with you in the heat of its burning, until that which must be done is finished and you emerge purified. Humble yourselves! Cast yourselves down! I am your Father! I LOVE YOU! Yet you have departed from Me, wasting your inheritance in a world of unbridled sin, a world which even now hates you, a world which you have loved more than Me, even yourselves! And so I have written to you page after page by the pen of My prophets, shouting to you by all manner of speaking and devices, calling to you across the ages, speaking to THIS generation with many tears and much sorrow, warning you of My wrath which must come and is now here and shall quickly overtake this world. And still you push out the hand! Do you not understand?! I have seen it; nothing escapes My eye! Churches of men, I have seen it! Modern Pharisees, you fight against Me! You fight against The God of your fathers, The One and Only True God! And whatsoever you do to even one of these I have sent to you, whether in word or by deed, you have done it to Me!... Yet I love you still... My heart is torn, a rent which widens, a rent which you have made! Why do you tear yourselves from Me?! For apart from Me, you can do nothing! Apart from Me is darkness, thick darkness and death! The time has passed, beloved ones; My bride is chosen and the first election is made; the bundles are prepared and set in their places. Therefore I tell you, when you look for Me in the Day, look no more to yourselves, nor in man-made churches; behold, they shall all be torn down! For in them I have not dwelled... I dwell in the hearts of men! And when darkness has fallen and your tears well up, a bitter rain brought forth from a heart severely broken, from a spirit crushed by the weight of realization, run and seek out My beacons, My witnesses. For they shall lead you through the fire, and I shall abide with you, accompanying you on your journey... A journey of service and great hardship, of many tears and great sorrows, suffering on every side; a journey of love and hope in the midst of great adversity, the end of which shall bring a great multitude into My love, with every servant washing the feet of his neighbor until death comes and sets you free; caught up into My love, healed in an instant, refashioned in glory, remade in My image, partaking of My life fully. For as many as I love, I rebuke and chasten, Bringing forth much thanksgiving To the praise of My glory... As it is written, so shall it be done... Therefore trust in My ways, For I am The King alone; Apart from Me, there is nothing at all."

My husband 😍 is a Muslim, but he was raised with Christian stories, the Bible etc, he not religious growing up nor is he now and he hadn't identified as Christian. When I met him, he was in fellowship with God (drool). His mother had taught him the "true Lord's Prayer" so when he recited the English to me, I realised he was reciting Surah Fatiha, The Opening, of the Quran. Basically, God speaks to the heart which He created. That is the correct and straight path. Quran is the last speech to mankind, I suggest you strip it of labels and read what God sent. Note,the issues with translations however Dr Shabir does a great job of explaining things. Blessings upon blessings to you and everyone here 🙏

And verily Joseph brought you of old clear proofs, yet ye ceased not to be in doubt concerning what he brought you till, when he died, ye said: Allah will not send any messenger after him. Thus Allah deceiveth him who is a prodigal, a doubter. I will avoid the trapping of a retort to an Atheist and address the issues directly to the dismay of believers. More than Judaism and Christianity, I think Islam has the most theological difficulty explaining why there is evil and suffering. This is NOT a flaw; instead, it is a consequence of its ambition. As Annemarie Schimmel put it, "...Muslims take God seriously...." The byproducts of this create challenges when managing the believer's expectations associated with evil and suffering. Here I am speaking to the "ubiquity of God" within Islam. The Quran neatly summarizes where I'm going with this: "And to Allah belongs the east and the west. So wherever you turn, there is the Face of Allah. Indeed, Allah is all-encompassing and knowing." I once read it explained that God constructs reality as layer upon layer of veils that beyond which there is only God. Thus, a reasonable, some would say unavoidable, take away is that God visits evil and suffering upon the world because, while God is not "all" (e.g., God is not evil), God is the source of all. Put another way, Islam has a "proximity problem" that requires a lot of explanation before the believer "gets it." Related to this, Islam has a clunky relationship (to the layperson) with the concepts of free will and fate/predestination (Qadar). This complexity is compounded by how it reconciles (or fails to) its ubiquity of God with free will/Qadar. For anyone interested in comparative theology, Islamic scholarship over this last point is fascinating. Avoiding a deep dive into that topic, I'll keep things "practical" and state that I appreciate how the Quran explicitly confronts the reader with choices. This is most striking with its treatment of punishment and forgiveness for transgressions. Repeatedly, the Quran informs the reader what is allowed (proportional retaliation or exchange -common justice), but also what is preferred by God (to forgive -justice with a capital J): "The recompense of evil is punishment like it, but whoever forgives and amends, he shall have his reward from Allah; surely He does not love the unjust." As a technical matter, I suppose that it is incorrect to say that, in Islam, God's grace is most accessible and abundant at the moment the believer chooses to forgive. Still, I like to think that is the case. Islam has several replies in its toolbox to deal with the problem of evil and suffering. First and foremost, it assures the believer time and again that God is merciful, and that God's mercy is fully manifest by the gift of Revelation itself. Here, God is demonstrably the healing reaction to evil and suffering. Further, the Quran tells the believer that, "God does not burden any soul with more than it can bear...." and discusses at length the concepts of "tests" and "rewards and punishments." Ultimately, the follower will find peace through submission to the mercy and righteousness of Revelation; which is to say, God. Functionally, it's not unlike the Buddhist sentiment that pain is negated by deconstructing one's ego. Against all the malicious commentary to the contrary, God, as revealed in the Quran, is one of compassion and love (well beyond that in Torah!), but also one with a firmness whose intent is not to inflict suffering but to illuminate and nurture a proper path toward peace and justice.
@WorkWizdom
@WorkWizdom 3 жыл бұрын
What a long answer yet you said nothing. Either you are grossly ignorant about Islam or you are deliberately mishandling the Qur'an. Let me correct you here. That they may bear their burdens entirely on the day of resurrection and also of the burdens of those whom they lead astray without knowledge; now surely evil is what they bear. S. 16:25 Shakir And those who disbelieve say to those who believe: Follow our path and we will bear your wrongs. And never shall they be the bearers of any of their wrongs; most surely they are liars. And most certainly they shall carry their own burdens, AND OTHER BURDENS WITH THEIR OWN BURDENS, and most certainly they shall be questioned on the resurrection day as to what they forged. S. 29:12-13 Shakir Interestingly, the Qur'an contradicts itself in a space of two verses. This last passage says that disbelievers will not carry the believers' sins. But right after saying this, the Qur'an says that on the resurrection day the unbelievers will not only carry their own burden of sins, but the burden of others as well!
@WorkWizdom
@WorkWizdom 3 жыл бұрын
Another verse contradicting the principle that "no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another" is the following: O ye who believe! respond to ALLAH, and the Messenger when he calls you that he may give you life, and know that ALLAH comes in between a man and his heart, and that HE it is unto Whom you will be gathered. And beware of an affliction which will surely not smite exclusively those among you who have done wrong. And know that ALLAH is severe in requiting. S. 8:24-25 Sher Ali Here, even the innocent will suffer the affliction that will smite the wrongdoers just as the commentators show. The two Jalals said regarding Surah 8:25: And guard yourselves against a trial which, if it were to fall upon you, would certainly not fall exclusively upon the evildoers among you, but would encompass them and others, and the way to guard against it is to repudiate that evil which necessarily results in [precipitating] it; and know that God is severe in retribution, against those who oppose Him. (Tafsir al-Jalalayn)
@WorkWizdom
@WorkWizdom 3 жыл бұрын
when we consider all of what the Qur'an and Hadith actually say we see that bearing the load of another is part of their teaching. When Islamic leaders say, "each person only bears their own load", they are not telling the whole story. Muslims cannot simply dismiss the Christian claim because Islam has its own expression of this idea.

@@zionchar11 that was one thing I was thinking about that makes sense to me. This suffering is temporary but heaven would be infinite. Mathematically, if any integer is subtracted from infinity, it's still infinity. But on the other hand, if I remember correctly and the information was accurate because I didn't read it straight from the Qur'an, I believe the Qur'an says that 99 out of 100 people will go to hell. So doesn't the existence of Earth and this system mean that God induced more evil and negativity than he did positivity by creating it? If so, the total suffering outweighs the total good, right?

@@noe2521 The reason for that is that to do sin is very easy as to virtues. Even by helping the homeless can bring you sin IF you record the act and show the world you did it. In the act of selflessness, one must be humble. For charity event is bit different. This is also why you can't judge a person if they have of haven't donated because the PUREST form of charity consist of only 2 parties, you and the receiver. Now back to hell and heaven, believe it or not even muslim will go to hell because either you didn't do enough virtue or you're just a muslim in name. The people who goes to hell will receive punishment for every sin their made, once every sin have been dealt and you are clean it. Then you go to heaven. In Islam there's tiers of heaven and hell. The worst of hell and the best of Heaven. after spending thousand of years in hell repenting your sins, you'll be put inside heaven eventually. Where in the tiers is god willing as he knows all. This also goes for hell, the worst crime against humanity, the worst of hell you go. So yes, injustice do happen but know that the worst of them are going to beg for mercy from god and receive the worst of punishment no man can imagine. Lastly, sin is so easy for humanity to make. a simple side comment that slightly hurt someone feeling is also a sin. Understand that NO sin even as small as an atom will not be unchecked by god or his angels. Hence why there's going to be a lot of people going to hell, another example is driving. How many time do you think you've curse someone out on the road. If you have a tip jar for every curse you spat out not only on the road but in your everyday life. You'll have a lot.

Many illnesses wouldnt excist if it wasnt for bad diets, smoke (both from cigarettes and machines), alcohol, too much meat, too little protein, vegies and bad treatment of animals. If someone kills a person then its not a action God took and God doesnt punish u. Its a human who did an unforgiving thing and he is the one u should put ur blame on. Humans have a responsability and we shouldnt blame God for what is goin wrong in this world.. I was told by jehovas witnesses some time ago that it was time for God to kill the devil and all evil would leave this world. I told them that humans need the contrast of good and evil. Thats how we are

IMHO Dr Shabir Ally had the answer in his first sentence. We Humans can only understand the World around us, and our life in it through our individual and imperfect view. We apply labels such as "suffering" and "evil" based on how We experience life and not how God sees it. The whole idea of Islam is to submit to God's view and not our own.

I believe Dr. Shabir should look into the eastern religions as well. In Buddhism where God concept is not there, gives a way, to progress as human beings mainly using our mind as a tool. I am not knowledgeable enough to explain this, but you can learn about Buddhism from anywhere. I personally have experienced some glimpses of this growth, and I am moving in this path. So the claim that if there is no God there is no reason to behave in a certain way is wrong. For example, If you hate on people, it will be hard for you to sleep peacefully. Whether or not there is a God. So it will be best not to hate.

I would not say they're so different in one sense. In all essential senses, religions are the same. What is called God or Good in one religion is called Nirvana or Enlightenment in others. The difference is Personification: Abrahamic religions chose this path via their various Prophets for very specific purposes to help many people. The universe has direction according to science. According to metaphysics human development also has direction. There is symmetry.

What is Evil? Evil is a departure from the way things ought to be. Your definition will be something similar. If you then agree that there is evil in the world and that evil is the departure of things from the way they should or ought to be, then according to your own analogy, there IS a way things ought to be. Then, if there is a way things ought to be, then there must be a determiner that determines how things ought to be. In other words, you’re agreeing that there must be a transcending power in the universe. If you don’t believe in this power, then you don’t believe things ought to be a certain way, and then don’t believe in a departure from this way, hence no evil. Things are just the way they are. But does anyone really claim or want to claim evil does not exist? The more you think about it, the more you will realize God is actually the best explanation for the existence of objective moral values and evil. Your reproach to this idea comes from mainly two things - the wrong concept of God and an unwillingness to change the way you live your life. Alhamdulillah to the one who granted us intellect and granted us the ability to reject the desires of the nafs and the shayateen from ins and jinn. May Allah protect us

It is understandable that if a baby does not feel pain it will not learn to avoid hitting it's head, thus will eventually do serious harm to itself. It's a temporary suffering to shape behavior. But what about the millions of people that have life-long debilitating pain that cannot be remedied by changing behavior? Why can't we have the former without the latter? It makes more sense that either God is either indifferent to human suffering, incapable or unwilling to change the nature of suffering, or God is non-existent.

I like Shabir and the way he explains things in a very balanced philosophical way, however, there are problems with this whole concept of suffering that can’t be explained no matter how hard you try to use mental gymnastics. A lot of muslims, when confronted with this issue, will give a generic mindless answer saying “Life’s a test”. Its a major cliche and shows how little they like to think or perhaps subconsciously they feel god will burn them for questioning anything. Those who are more intelligent and philosophical will say suffering is for the greater good, suffering leads to moral growth, the yin yang argument, the whole heaven argument, amongst others, and whilst there is some truth to these answers, it doesn’t answer the problem entirely. They may answer evil at the macro level but ignore the micro level completely. Some may say that we can never understand gods ways or that his view of morals and suffering is different. Well we must then ask why a god would create beings who desire happiness and dislike suffering and have a certain view of morals, yet he thinks entirely different. This in itself would be proof of a psychopath that created beings and then dislikes their desires so as to cause them pain. Not to mention that giving these cliche answers does not explain all the totally unnecessary and fruitless suffering that exists, the excessive amount of diseases, rare genetic defects, the extreme injustice that some face etc etc. Suffering is not a problem but rather the excessive amount of it and the fact that there is no intervention on gods path or freedom from this suffering in many cases ppl suffer and achieve nothing from it. Those that say suffering leads to growth must explain the extreme injustice and how its usually the good ppl or the less privileged that suffer, whilst many are rich brats that don’t think deep or experience extreme hardships. Does god not care about their moral growth, and if not why create such beings in the first place. Furthermore, a god who would burn ppl simply coz they objected to evil due to their high sensitivity to the issue and empathy, or due to personal trauma, well why would anybody want to worship a egomaniac who believes in behaving like a smug bully playing dice with peoples lives. Muslim ppl in particular showout their oppressive complex when they say god cannot be questioned since they admit that they afraid god will burn them for objecting proving that they themselves consider god a cosmic sadistic psycho. Lastly a god which is considereed so great and beyond the material cannot possibly understand empathy and what it is like to experience the humans subjective experience of suffering, This is why christians came up with Christ incarnate to explain how god can feel human pain. And muslims have a hadeeth qudsi statign that god has forbidden injustice amongst himself.

Morality is utilitarian. Good and bad, and right and wrong aren't universal concepts, rather they are culturally relative. It is interesting that many ppl who have had near death experience (NDE), now describe that during NDE, the blissful state they experienced invoked a kind of feeling that they have returned back "home" In agreement with this, the Quran stated that mankind was once a single entity - then (at one point in existance) they differed (in opinions). *10v19* Mankind was but one nation, but differed (later).Had it not been for a word that went forth before from thy Lord, their differences would have been settled between them Since our home were once "up there", and will (later) be going back "home", it is likely that God had previously created an existence without any suffering, and such is perfectly possible to be done by God. However, a disbeliever might have disputed such fact, and claimed the previous existence was an imperfection, and thus such a dispute led to us being sent down here *2v36*...."Get ye down, all (ye people), with enmity between yourselves.On earth will be your dwelling-place and your means of livelihood - for a time." Mankind, not being the first and the last, may at one point of their existence, disputed the logic behind etc things. For example, how did a person come about and how did they have their apparent identity?. What really is "good" and "evil" or true and false. In this realm, our memory of the previous existence was veiled, so that we could understand the head and tail of things (cause and effect), without the confounding effect of our previous memory. Some Christians believed that there was once a war in heaven. However, the same account does not seem to be apparent in the Quran. The taking of forbidden knowledge parable was conveyed by both Islam/Christianity, however, Islam does not believe in the concept of "original sin", albeit "purification of the soul" is always mentioned by many Muslims Humans were created with different capacity or capabilities, and thus, knowledge (given or taken or omitted) can have an influence to their character. Humans were originally created in perfect proportion (decent). *Him Who created thee. Fashioned thee in due proportion, and gave thee a just bias; (Surah Al-Infitar, 7)* Mankind have decency in them, but a decent person can be manipulated by evil forces and that led to their own "slip ". Taking forbidden knowledge resulted to an imbalance that is against God's will, as that could result to evil inclination *20v121* Then they both ate of it, so their evil inclinations became manifest to them, and they both began to cover themselves with leaves of the garden, and Adam disobeyed his Lord, so his life became evil (to him).. Knowledge is in itself, not evil, but it could cause evil given to the wrong person. A soul with unsanctioned knowledge are "impure soul". This led to characters (of disbelievers), disputing God's knowledge. We are down here to see the cause and effect of things, and presented with time based choices, to provide the "empirical" evidence of our character and what is and true/false; evil/good . *8v37* In order that God may separate the impure from the pure, put the impure, one on another, heap them together, and cast them into Hell. They will be the ones to have lost.. *28v63* Those against whom the charge will be proved, will say: "Our Lord! These are the ones whom we led astray: we led them astray, as we were astray ourselves: we free ourselves (from them) in Thy presence: it was not us they worshipped." *10v33* Thus is the word of thy Lord proved true against those who rebel: Verily they will not believe.

If good religious people are to be trusted on the existence of God, the logic applies to good, honest atheists who claim there is no God. For example, if we are told by Arctic explorers, some of whom may have been atheists, that Eskimos do not eat spaghetti as a staple, why should we disbelieve them though not many of us have met Eskimos?

Moe E Allah does have the power to make humans in heaven, Adam was created in heaven and was sent down to earth in the Quran - the death of a child can lead an emotionally detached family into having a closer bond due to the babys passing, that's just one example, it happened to my family

If you’re trauma informed, you know that people, especially children who are innocent, do not have a choice nor possibility for growth in the future after their abuse/trauma. This still doesn’t make sense to me, even as a Muslim.

In a world where God exist, is it his will for people to kill others, because he allow suffering in the world for a good reason? So should we imprison a murder for doing God's will?
