--I find it easier to go around to the left from the portal to get on and off the islands. --You do not have to wait until after Dagon's Shrine to get these weapons. Oblivion World 2 is also a random gate. After you take Martin to Cloud Ruler Temple simply open gates (but do not close them) until OW-2 shows up. Twenty-five gates will spawn before you complete Dagons Shrine, but if you have a copy of all of the other Oblivion Worlds open (plus the second openings for Worlds five and six) and close OW-2, OW-2 will open again on your next try because the game has no choice. Always take the sigil stone and close the gate to OW-2 after taking the weapons or the game will glitch and no further OW-2's will have weapons in the pods (you can't go back out the gate and wait three days for the weapons to respawn) . The level 19 (highest) version is the only version with a strong enough Damage Speed enchantment to stupefy your enemies and allow you to take multiple sneak attack shots. This is very useful at high levels, making these, IMO, the most effective weapons in the game. They are cheap to use if you carry two copies, one charged and one depleted, and only use the charged one for its single shot stupefy effect. Wearing 35% chameleon from the Ring of Kajiit will help the monsters forget you. A little more than that (50-60%) doesn't have a huge effect, and neither does less. I usually start opening gates at level 19 or 20, get one set of Hatreds weapons, go back and close the opened gates (optional) until level 22 when I can get the Mundane Ring from Raven Camoran with Baurus in the sewers, then proceed with the quest-line until Friends of Bruma starts and I can get a second copy of the weapons from the Chorrol Gate.

Fortunately not true. You can still get them if you are lucky. The oblivion worlds are random. It's just that the gate by Chorrol will always take you here. Any random gate across the game has a chance to bring you to this oblivion world. I know you made this comment like a year ago but I hope you get this reply :-)

I just got this bow and the DMG is 16 and I am level 19 with 99 AGI. I dont have any diseases or anything. Anyone know why this is? honestly when I picked up these weapons I was pretty sure the DMG read 24 on both. I only had time to run into the gate and grab them and I had to log off, when I loaded my game back later the damage read 16 on the bow and 5 on the mace. I loaded a save right before I picked them up and it was still 16 and 5, strange. After playing abit more and increasing Marksman abit, the DMG is now 17, so that 24 is based on maxed skill. Also, these items are NOT exclusive to the Chorrol gate. You need to find a gate that has the leaning tower to the north of you as you walk in, and go north and find the door to the tunnels.

The mace damage is linked to your blunt skill and the bow damage is linked to your Marksman skill (not agility like Skyrim). You need to level those skills up before those classes of weapons will have Max DMG. Good news is as you level those skills the dmg of your old weapons will automatically also rise

You do not need many soul gems. I play without ever charging a soul gem and just use what I find, including varla stones. The trick is to get two/multiple copies of the the level 19 version (highest) and only use the charged weapons for the one shot zonk-out effect of the damage Speed, then use a depleted copy for repeated sneak attacks. A varla stone will recharge everything in your inventory.

My Current character is level 39 and I have most of the main skills maxed or close to. I Play him as an Assassin/Mage. Using illusion and backstabs, as well as marksmanship to sneak and kill enemies. Other times when I'm in more of a rush or have a specific objective in mind, My Game will become a more Battle-Mage than an Assassin/Mage.

Its based on your archery level whenever they say base damage they mean base damage at max of what ever skill it goes with
