This movie should have r-u-n-n-o-f-t with the Best Picture Oscar amongst a whole host of others. It’s one of my favorite movies of all time. RIP Ralph Stanley.

It's really just a feel-good movie. Makes twenty times more sense when you actually read the Odysseus (I can't actually imagine what the movie must've been like for someone who hasn't. Probably very hectic). Definitely not one of Coens best works, but as they never disappoint it was a fun ride anyway.

One thing about family members who sing, since they grew up in the same home, with the same people, they sing with the same vocal inflections and timing that make those beautiful harmonies just as tight as they can be. Even the little pauses sound as though they come from one voice. Awesome.
@alanmcneill2407 Жыл бұрын
Loved every moment of this movie. The acting was great, Clooney never did anything before or will he ever do anything to top this performance, the entire cast made their characters so very real...and then the music...hard to pick a favorite...from Jailhouse Now to Fly Away to Man of Constant Sorrow, it was all just fabulous....all so cleverly written. Thought I would die laughing at Delmar and Clooney does comedy very well, too.....i have seen this dozens of times mbut never get tired of it!!!

I enjoyed this movie when it came out, but as time passes, I view it as somewhat extraordinary. Hollywood being obsessed with CGI comic book movies, this film stands apart as a very unique piece of art. I first saw the three fugitives as the stars of the film; I now see the context / environment as the star, with the three men moving, bewildered, through it. The Coen brothers took more chances in this film than most directors do in a lifetime.

Love three gals voices, simply beautiful! The gentleman singing also was EXCELLENT! Funny, I don't even listen to this type of music, but I sure do love this sample of wonderful feel, fantastic vibe. I mean I could listen to listen at any moment of the day! Mind you I come from classic rock, Led Zepplin, Journey, Queen, ToTo, Rush, Aerosmith, etc... I know, I know, crazy right?! But this particular video, and the music, voices in it raised the hairs on my arms!! I mean, not many things in life can do that to my system!

As the father of award-winning daughters (State champions, vocal trio/ performance of the year 2011, state of Georgia), I was moved almost to tears by these young ladies' voices. My hearing is diminishing with age and aural abuse, but it's not so far gone as to not hear the nuance and beauty of three-part harmony. Not yet, anyway.
@SkylineR334 жыл бұрын
So if every state had a competition and it's been 9 years since then your kids won there has been 450 groups of other trio winners. Can I ask how many trio groups were in that competition your daughters were in ? I was 2nd place in a spelling bee....out of 4 kids.

This was a fun movie to work on. I was hired as a military coordinator to assist with the choreographers in the "rally" scene. They needed a large group of individuals who were capable of marching in step and taking directions. I brought about 125 former military extras to make the scene work. It was quite ridiculous, actually. Great memories of the crew!

@Mark Clark We worked several days, sometimes he was pretty stressed, but he treated us pretty cool. A lot of us were Veterans, so maybe that had a little to do with it.
@OIFEagle4 жыл бұрын
@John LaFever - I didn't act in the film, I helped coordinate the scene. They needed the guys to march. Most of the guys who played the Klan guys were a little uncomfortable wearing hoods, but felt better once they learned it was very comedic and mocked the Klan. Interestingly enough, the guys wearing the hoods represented several different races.
