OBS Choppy Frames | How to fix with two settings

I've been having the same issue, and I have heard that getting an SSD helps. I am still trying to figure out how that works though.

i dont understand i have a laptop with 3050 ryzen 6600 and still terrible lag and choppieness (lower than 8 fps) in screen recordings but in normal games im getting over 120 frames like it shouldnt be that difficult to record a screen, this didnt help

something with H.264 that makes it choppy, switching the video encoder worked for me recording format MPEG4 video encoder x264 30000 kbps might make some lag if your PC is not that great, you can lower it to 10000 or even 5000 but you will sacrifice quality Higher Kbps = Better quality, larger file size, taxing on PC Lower Kbps = Lower quality, smaller file size, less taxing on PC

hey bro i dont know what is happening with my pc i have great specs i have a 4060 and intel i7 14700 HX and still my obs is not streaming properly i used your old videos to fix the settings and set the bitrate to 6000 kbps and my up speed ha around 51000 kbps and the thing is as i am just using my display thier is not a single frame drop but as soon as i start my game which is Cod warzone the bitrate suddenly drop to 200-700 kbps and then as i close the game andd stream is still running thy came back again to 6000 kbps please help me

try updating your driver. if you're unsure how to do that, go to your computer settings and type in "windows update settings." select it and go to advanced options. when you're on that, go to optional updates, then select your driver and update it. you'll need to restart your pc to activate it, but keep updating your driver until there are no updates available. hope this helps

I'm using Nvidia nvenc h.264 with 50,000 bit rate and am experiencing chop. Settings are 4k/60 and game is F1 2023. I don't think there is a fix. I think F1 is out of the program's range. AMD 7950 cpu and Nvidia 4090 gpu.

Go to graphic settings in windows and put obs on high performance, also run obs as admin whenever you stream or record

@@KabeerThePro Thanks for the reply. I've done all of that. I tried recording via the Nvidia and got better results. The bitrate was 90,000 according to the properties. Action! has similar results but I think there is a memory leak because the recording progressively gets mor choppy.
