Thanks for the video and info curious to know how you like it after driving it awhile.Debating on doing the same or saving up for a limited slip.

No problem dude! So far, I like the power being distributed to both wheels instead of one. I don't like that tire chatter when I make sharp turns though. I really want a posi unit and more gears but, they not in the budget right now. So, I went the cheap route.

Spools are for off road use only. If you run that on the road you will mess up the backlash between your ring and pinion. You're better off going with one of those lunchbox lockers like that spartan locker ifn you don't have much money. Or look for a used axle that came with a G80 locker from the factory. I personally have an Eaton True Trac limited slip unit in my chevelle. It was like 600 bucks but well worth it.

Yeah, I know. Just had to try it once. That lunch box locker was my first choice. My rear end back lash is probably way out of wack already man. It's got like 350k miles on it anyway. I can't afford a posi unit yet but, I may swap the spool out for a locker. Stay tuned bro!

@@WorkingwithBobby if the backlash is bad, sometimes you can hear the gears howling like a semi truck rear end does. Luckily for you your truck isn't a 4x4 so you can easily swap any rear end with any gear ratio and it won't be a problem. You could even put an 8 lug 14 bolt in it from a 1 ton 3500. I always thought that would be absolutely unkillable if anyone was to do that. All my trucks are 4x4s so I have to get a rear axle with the same gear ratio as the front axle when I have a catastrophic failure so I'm quite limited as far as what I can use compared to you. I have like 10 different axles that would bolt in your truck at my place. None of them are posi tho lol.

@thehulkamaniabrother2.089 you always give excellent feedback and knowledge when you comment on my videos. I am blessed to have you as a subscriber dude. I'm currently uploading another video about the spool. It had to come out. Check it out when you see it.✊🏾✊🏾

I might do a mini spool now but I'm going to go with 4.56 gears and a ring and pinion. 3.42 ain't enough for a long bed ext cab

Really, what size tires are you running on your truck? My truck has a 28" tall tire. I want to go 3.73 ring and pinion eventually.
