I have a Black screen on my gaming PC. I have given OBS firewall permissions which is a fix i saw elsewhere but still can't get output from my Gaming PC. Very frustrating especially when all guides on KZbin show it working out of the box. Any ideas how to fix. Great video by the way

I got around this by making sure my laptop is connected via an ethernet cable (something to do with the bandwidth of NDI, sometimes it doesn't like wireless connections, even if you have an 800mbps wireless connection). However, I would get random dropped data coming from the ethernet cable (using a USB-c adapter) so to get around this I use both wired and wireless on my laptop at the same time and limit the link speed for the ethernet cable to 10mbps Full-duplex (search up how to do it on windows within device manager) so windows prioritises using the wireless adapter over the ethernet cable. Having the cable connected makes it appear on my laptop (where previously no NDI program could see the connection).

you seem to be the only one addressing how to set up a separate audio track recording from the streaming/recording PC. obviously I'm getting an error (ShellExecuteEx failed; error 5) while installing the NDI and unfortunately I've already bought an Elgato Capture Card so I'm kind of screwed :). anyway I was wondering if you had (or if you could make) a video on how to do that with a capture card

How does the NDI program Detect from the gaming PC to the Streaming PC? you explained the software but how does the signal be detection from the Gaming PC to the Streaming PC? is there any cables or hookups from the gaming PC to the streaming PC?

I found the NDI plugin for MAC here: obsproject.com/forum/resources/obs-ndi-newtek-ndi™-integration-into-obs-studio.528/ But I will say we're having major audio sync issues when in the SKYPE > NDI > OBS > KZbin work flow - we've tried adjusting settings in Skype, OBS and KZbin and we keep getting audio glitching and audio sync drifting when we live stream. It's been a real nightmare. If you (or anyone on this thread) finds a solution please share! Good luck!!

One question at 5:37 you mentioned "...it should automatically detect NDI streams on my network...", does this mean that NDI will only work from computer to computer connecting to the same network via ethernet / wi-fi? When i open obs on my streaming pc, Network usage gets to 100% and i have 300ping ingame on my gaming pc, and im not even streaming or recording yet, just have obs opened. Help plz. Something must be wrong with my Ethernet settings or router which cables go into, right?

do you have a full gigabit connection between the machines? NDI uses move then 100mbit in fullHD. wifi will never ever work btw

ive watched 4 videos now and just cannot get it to work :( Does this work with studio aswell?

Works fine with studio. Sometimes (this happened on one of my laptops once and I still don't know why) it installs the obs plugin in the 32bit obs folder even if you have the 64bit obs studio and it just requires copying or moving the plugin folder from the 32bit obs folder( usually obs-studio in program files x86) to the 64bit obs studio folder ( usually obs-studio in program files). Then restart obs studio and run as administrator just to be on the safer side.

You can add inputs from as many NDI sources as you have, as far as I know.

Firewall most likely. Could also be an AntiVirus' built-in firewall. Also, if you're not on the same local network - On 2 seperate routers or Wi-Fi networks, then its going to be a bit harder to set up.

Unfortunately, I installed the plugin, found the all of the NDI settings, enabled it and absolutely nothing is happening. OBS is not pushing anything over the network. It's a shame. OBS really needs working NDI support. Oh well, off to find something else.
