Man, thank you so much for this video. This helped me a ton. I had read somewhere that you could do 1440p 144Hz on the HD60 Pro so went ahead and purchased it only to find out the person meant one or the other. With this video I am now able to get both and continue my competitive gaming in Battlefield 1 on my gaming monitor and streaming from my stream PC. You're a life saver! @Safetytrousers8 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video. The crucial bit for me was '--disable-gpu', the projecting process was making a massive hit on fps for me and that totally solved the situation. A lot of searches for gaming on 1440p and cloning to Elgato led back to a video saying to use DSR, which did not work for me, and would have been a very poor solution if it did. In my previous installation of W10 simply setting things up in NVIDIA inspector worked for me, but now for some reason it isn't so this video has saved me.
@SirZuidy5 жыл бұрын
I 100% second this. This is the send-all to this video for me. Without --disable-gpu, even extending my display was creating a noticeable stutter. With that command, my gameplay was lossless- Just as if I wasn't even capturing footage. I prefer this setup over NDI any given day with the --disable-gpu command.

@@PrinceCharmingNY Well, if you clone and stay at 1080p, you can go to 120Hz. Above that, you clone and get locked at 60. So, if you don't clone run OBS Studio as admin and send the preview to your Elgato as the video shows, you can get your refresh rate you want.

Hi! My Gaming Monitor is still locked on 60hz :( what can i do?
@critterdale20006 жыл бұрын
Thank you, this was a good explanation. I'll share how this helped me in case anyone else has a similar setup: I game on a 1440p 144hz monitor, and want to play on this res while I capture with my Elgato HD60s, which I am capturing at 1080p and 30 or 60fps (usually 30 since I output my stream at 720p30fps). The default method of capturing forces me to mirror my gaming monitor onto the elgato capture, which means I have to game on 1080p60fps. With this method, I was able to play the exact same way I normally do while capturing with elgato. The fullscreen preview window only uses 1% to 3% CPU, so it's barely noticeable.

I've followed multiple videos that label this as a fix but although my NVIDIA panel and windows options show my primary monitor is at the intended refresh rate.. it is infact not. If you undo this config and disable the elgato screen you will notice a massive improvement in smoothness. I've tried duplicating any which way and also fullscreen projecting with OBS and both ways do infact nerf your refresh rate back to 60HZ. Use any browser and check UFO busters, load up a game and set vsync.. you won't be at 120/144/165.

@@FrugalStreamer I did prior to getting a capture card but my home network can't support it to a reasonable standard as I use a power-line adapter and live in a Victorian house! as such I was getting mediocre quality and/or substantial latency. SO no luck on the rolled back version of obs studio. Still outputting 10-12 fps when I start the preview on the capture card. The game capture works just fine in obs on the gaming pc and has a rock steady fps of 60, but it's the second that I enable the preview on the capture card is when the fps just tanks.

I have this issue as well. The Preview is showing 10-12 FPS, when I send it to my Elgato - it's all choppy. Only using anywhere from 5-12% CPU. Im running i76700k (OC'ed to 4.6ghz, 1080GTX, 16G RAM, G1 Gaming 7 mobo, SSD). My streaming PC is a i72600k OC'ed to 4.5GHZ, 580 GTX, 16G ram and hard drives. My preview, even without sending it to my elgato - shows that low of FPS. It must be a setting somewhere.

Dude, I found an awesome solution that solved all my problems. Check this video out kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3nCdnZ6gdB-e6M it's a newer option that OBS studio supports, I can stream at 108060 and even capable of streaming 1440p60 if I really wanted WHILE gaming at 1440p 165hz with no fps loss on the gaming pc. Check it out, solved all my problems.

Great video man. I was able to transfer the signal from my 165hz 1440p monitor but I am still having issue getting audio. Does this method affect audio at all? Have been messing with this for 3 days now, can't figure out any method to get everyone setup correctly. I am using Logitech G930 USB wireless headset if this helps at all. I have watched your vids using Voicemeeter Banana to do VOIP . Thanks.

One drawback ive found with this solution is that OBS fullscreen projector does not run at 60fps its locked to 30fps so streamer that "stream" at 60fps wont be getting their game captured by the Elgato at 60fps, since the full screen projector/preview is locked at 30fps. Found solution for ppl who would want their elgato actually recieving 60fps. Use window projector instead and move the window to elgato screen and maximize window, crop the edges on stream pc within obs.
