Danger Mouse brings back great memories. It confused the absolute hell out of me but I couldn't put it down. Traffic and BB Volleyball I remember also. Chess and the Titanic games are amazing to see, those are totally new to me!

Thanks, buddy! I appreciate it. I had fun making this one. Lol, the intro is almost retro. So many of my year-one subscribers seem to like it, so I thought it needed to come back again.

Definitely reminds me of discovering "treasures" after a floppy copying party. I definitely had danger mouse and watched the cartoon as a kid in PA (USA) too. Keep up the good work.

Traffic was actually developed in Hungary by Andromeda Software. It's good fun. Danger Mouse was an animated cartoon in the 1980s, and there's a modern version. The yellow figure following the white mouse is Penfold, DM's sidekick. By the look of that last part of Lucifer's Revenge, it was trying to do an ESCOS effect (Extended Screen COnstruction Set); this enlarged a picture and put it into the side and top borders. So it looks like it's not NTSC compatible due to timing.

Volley Ball and Danger Mouse look like fun. The name of the latter sounded familiar, but it turned out being different than the game I was thinking. Traffic is pretty interesting to see. When you were speaking about Chess it got me thinking of those days on the BBS' and all the fun with the modems. As you say, we were having lots of fun gaming online before a lot of people think! Such great times, I love this series and it takes me back!

I love these videos, your content is always fun and different. I was very young in the C64 days because my father was into programming computers in the 80's, and dialing into BBSes at like 10 years old, not realizing in the 1988 just about everybody was way older than me. I had a great time with the old C64 games and it shaped my entire life making me into a software developer myself.

I would love to access all my old disks and trawl through the ramshackle organization of my 12-yo self. Thanks for including the directory loading and crack screens! There was something really magical and inspiring about getting all those imported PAL games. It was so different than NA gaming.

I recently found my way through the closet boxes and found what appears to be 400-600??? disks. Most of them I picked up randomly years ago at garage sales, some in ebay lots, and a few handfuls of my old originals and copies from the local college c64 club meet and swaps. I can't even imagine what all is hiding in there, and how many died from disk rot or whatever. I have lost track of the box with my c64, and although I found my old 128 I haven't found a place to set it up. At least I get to share in your treasured finds. Keep em coming, as I don't think I have played nor seen any of the ones you pulled out this time. =)

Interestingly Traffic is the only game i know from your disk. I always find it exciting to discover the content of a nearly 40 years old floppy disk. Sometimes you find a hidden gem you never have heard of before. I also have lots of floppy disks waiting to be discovered on my channel. 🙂

My mom bought a used C64 from her then boyfriend as a Christmas gift for me. It came with (supposedly) 400 games on over a hundred disks - mostly unlabelled. I spent countless hours putting in disks and trying all of the files one by one. I would often find many great games on each disk, and I think the 400 was a good approximation. Nowadays I can only think of 30-50 games I remember, but there were so many I am not sure I ever finished looking through all of them. Once you find PSI 5 trading Company and Mail Order Monsters, I didnt need to keep looking !

Yep, I remember Titanic, played it even, as you say, w/o the manual was really difficult. And also Traffic, I loved those kind of games, even I preferred "Siren City" 🙂 Never saw or used Teleclone, but that's because in Italy we had a completely different land telephone system and that program was useless..! Kudos Tom, What's on that Floppy is always great 👍

Love the joy you get, love the joy I get, in exploring unknown disks and seeing what’s what! Great job as always. Question… have you ever explored “OneLoad64”? Or done a video on how to use it on real hardware? Not as fun as your “mystery disks”, but would love to hear your comments / watch a video by you on that! Its latest release was a couple weeks ago… v5 (5.2 or 5.7 I believe)

I used to watch Danger Mouse on Nickelodeon and never knew there was a game. I also remember spending too much time downloading something at 300 baud to find out it was a demo and not a game. I really didn't appreciate demos when I was younger - I just didn't "get it", I was also way to scared to mess with any of the phreaking stuff I came across. I knew a guy that did it and he said a lot of the stuff didn't work anymore in about 1990 or so.
@FloppyDeepDive
@FloppyDeepDive 4 ай бұрын
Yep, by 1990, it was more challenging but the early to mid-80s was the Wild West! I didn't really appreciate the demos either. I wanted a game after downloading for hours. Lol 😆

Right on.! Very happy to see another deep dive episode. You weren't wrong, since it seems this was a mostly UK disk of stuff. LOL. Back then they seemed to always have pretty big differences from the majority of games that were USA. I played a lot of them but also skipped a lot of them. haha. I don't think I have played or at least don't remember any of these except teleclone. I might have tried Danger Mouse, but I would have skipped it probably. I think I would like to check out the the demo as it seems to work fine in NTSC. I am with you on the Phone Phreaking stuff I didn't usually risk it beyond using my C64 to dial numbers out of a phone book on disk.

I had (still have) hundreds of C-64 floppies and don't think I ever even saw those games. There's a chance I have at least 1, but used to have copy sessions with friends where we had multiple drives hooked up mass copying games. I mean, I watched them do it, uh, I paid for all my games. Yeah that's what I did.

My xC64 experience is based only o. What I got from an inlaw between 84 to 86. I lived in a small town, so what ever was popular was what we had. I don't think i ha e seen any British games.. On an aside, i loved isepic. When i saw the screen i got excited, as my first few disk games were isepic:d. Ghostbusters, Kung fu master, and i think one called sky fox..
