"when I was a kid.... 14 years ago...." followed by "still to this day as a 33yr old woman" 🙃 I know most of us consider when we were 19 to still be somewhat of "a kid" cuz you're still really young and immature at that age. But still, she was a fkn adult and she doesn't get to describe HERSELF as being "a kid" in that situation. If other people wanna give her that leeway then sure, but she doesn't get to paint it that way...
@brookico Жыл бұрын
@@meowJACKIf it was only inappropriate comedy when she was early 20’s and she didn’t do live shows where she KNEW that VERY little kids followed her then I might could give her some slack bc whether people want to acknowledge it or not ( or maybe people were not old enough to remember when shock comedy was a thing, I have heard some very disturbing jokes at comedy clubs around 15-20 years ago) BUT this wasn’t just shock comedy aimed at older teens to adults, she had YOUNG kids on stage with her so she had to know her target audience. However, if this all happened 10 years ago and it was just inappropriate comedy that would be one thing but it’s not. She was talking privately with minors about very inappropriate things and she was 30+ years old. This is on a similar level to James C texting minors (which was bad enough), but IMO this is worse because she wasn’t some early 20-25 year old who’s brain had not fully developed. From what I’ve heard she was still talking to minors like this fairly recently so she can’t say this was all when she was young and dumb bc she wasn’t young. That’s the whole point of the Miranda character. That’s what her show on Netflix and all of her multiple tours were/are surrounded around. Her shows were often sold out. So people supported that. I honestly wonder what her audiences look like now that all of this has come out, because as far as I know, she’s still touring. I can’t imagine that everyone is still going and supporting her. Granted she could also just be playing with numbers depending on where her birthday falls so she could easily have been 21, but she was no younger than 19.

I HATE when people are making an apology and they go on and on about how they have changed and they hope the person/people they are apologizing to can see that. Whether or not you have changed is a separate conversation. Making it all about you makes the apology feel so hollow and undermines your apology. It’s how my abuser made ME feel guilty for allowing her to apologize and “retraumatizing” HER by making her remember that she did a bad thing. It’s not about how YOU feel when you apologize. I don’t want to hear how you’ve changed during that conversation. I don’t want you to be ashamed or feel guilty. That’s not the goal. If that’s how you feel that’s not my problem. When you play up that part of things TO THIS EXTENT, it’s manipulative. We’re all guilty of doing this to some degree when we apologize because we all want to be loved/accepted even when we make mistakes, but there’s a point where you need to put how you feel aside and focus on the hurt you’ve caused.

He also said she promised him a long letter with them as well which is what he really wanted, that's why he kept asking for them. Then when his mother took the underwear away from him upon arrival (thinking that it was, in fact, super creepy), Kory (Colleen's friend wearing the underwear) said he needed to wear them over his clothes like he did and to go and find where she'd hidden them, which the child then did. Corey runs his fingers along the back seam. *"We should make a hashtag. #koryslingeire?" Colleen offers at 34:43, amplifying attention to the underwear. *"Ew!" she screams in the moment she first sees a tweet from Adam. He's roasting her for an old outfit and she enjoys him being shady. "That outfit! Screaming home-schooled Christian university realness" Kory also laughs. There's no mention of underwear. She even reads the item Adam wants! "Please give me the dress," he's tweeted by 39:56. *"I want to send him something," she finally says at 40:47. "Do you want the bra, Adam?" "Do you want the bra and panties? Tweet right now." Kory also encourages as he pulls the straps down, still modeling them. *"Maybe he'll want the panties," Colleen says hopefully.

What she's not understanding, it that when people say she's treating minors inappropriately, that doesn't have to be with a sexual motive. She abused her power, made some shit choices, exploited minors for clout, money, attention, popularity, -and that was inappropriate. She was nearly twice the age of many of these kids and teenagers, and she should have stopped herself and said 'ok, no, we're not doing that.' And moved on with something else.
