I've been playing ED on PS4 since the release and I I'm already starting to get tired reading posts from people who just wants to complain about that ED is missing content and the missions are repetitive! .. Do most people now a day only expect or demand to be spoon-fed with "Content" continuously ??? There is a lot more than just missions to complete! .. How about a giant Galaxy to explorer out there! .. Just the fun to visit those places where the community have located Thargoid bases! .. The atmosphere those areas bring to the game experience are incredible!! And not to mention the engineers and what they can bring to the game if you decide to try to open up for each one of them + the challenges they can bring you when you want to modify your spaceship trying to figure out where or how to find the resource or component they need for the modification.. or other stuff like trying to locate the voyager satellite! People should stop focusing on only earning credits by completing missions. How about setting your own goals and start enjoying the game instead? Thank you Obsidian for all the great videos you have provided us.. I really have learned a lot by watching them :)

A couple of weeks ago I went 2,000 ly below Colonia (I believe it's Troa Flyou TU-O e6-3) and there was almost no stars in the sky, making the galaxy look even more stunning. Also, there's a megaship in Colonia (Foster Terminal, Coeus) and it's dockable.

One thing that I do when I'm jumping into a neutron or BH system is actually throttling down whilst in hyperspace, so that you slow right down to 30km/s as soon as you jump in, reducing the risk of accidentally crashing into the star.

Think two magnets not able to touch. if their polar core is just right they lock and cant move in any direction but exactly with each other. Eventually they may increase rotation but if comparable mass and size they remain constant. I've found some close with equal mass and those without. Those with remain, those without usually one wins that battle. love all that you do. I always trace event locations from star activity and venture back. Im still in my combat ASP MKII out here, gearing up for more adventure.

I think some of the dangers that should be mentioned is very close binary star systems. On several occasions on my way to Colonia, I dropped into a system right in the middle of 2 stars and they started to cook my ship. So a full stop, coming into a system is not always the best option.
@Assimilator17 жыл бұрын
Agreed, & this is far more dangerous than running into the jet cone of a Neutron star, which is pretty safe TBH, bar a few % module damage. Also I find running into the jet cone of a white dwarf far more dangerous, destroyed my FDL once with these & severely damaged my Python once too! I'm not going to boost from WDs anymore! :p
@Sechmut7 жыл бұрын
I never had issues using neutron stars. If you go further out with the star to your back and slowly dip into the cone while going on full break - the gravitational stream will just carry you outwards till you are supercharged and you can accelerate without any issues. Been doing that for countless of stars on my way to the core. But those drops out of the jump right between stars is scary. One time the animation actually showed me going through the star and stopping right behind the exclusion zone of the first one while facing the second star in front of me.
@TreyAscetic7 жыл бұрын
Sechmut yeah I've on multiple occasion actually yelled due to being frightened when dropping into close-proximity binary star systems. Something that screws me over though is when I drop into a brown dwarf (those purple dying stars that are basically glorified gas giants) system, I pass by it to jump to the next system and hit the exclusion zone because the zone is larger than you'd think looking at the star.

I would say white dwarves are a lot more dangerous than neutrons. The exclusion zone is huge and tricky to navigate. I once got thrown into the exclusion zone by the jet stream because I was too close when I approached. Needless to say you don't want to by stuck in an exclusion zone with an angry particle beam frying your ship to a crisp.

Fingers crossed in 2.4 / 3.0 we get a bucket load of new visual elements and things to encounter/witness while exploring. Common envelopes. Accretion disks. Aurora borealis. Comets. Massive geysers (km high). Electrical storms. Not to mention ideally (lifeless) planetary surface improvements with liquids, atmospheres and caves? And ideally some more involved exploration gameplay. At the very least exploration drones to manage and send off to go into orbit around objects and scan them and send video footage back etc. This sort of stuff would actually bring me back to exploration again...
@mr.awesome78697 жыл бұрын
Neil Fawcett I think the atmospheric aspects are far from being implemented, and those other features you mentioned would take quite some time for the devs to create, but we will definitely get some story in 2.4 since it's about the thargoids

Rudy Flores When you scan a system that has undiscovered bodies in it, the scan data is stored on your ship's computer. You can then go to a station or outpost and sell that data to Universal Cartographics. The data from an exploration run can really add up. Some individual bodies like Earth-Like planets can net you 50,000+ credits for scanning them with a detailed surface scanner. I remember on my first expedition to Maia I made well over a million credits in exploration data and I wasn't even trying to explore the systems I came across.
