OBX Spinning Rod Bluefin Tuna - Unedited Footage

Jigging and Popping OBX with then Tuna Junkie boys.
Fishing with Alex Simon on the "Halo Rick" had a banner couple days going 2/2 on giants jig and pop style (the only style) with a bunch of other opportunities on fish. Was the first trip testing a good friends prototype rods and we were stoked to be able to take a trophy fish on it.
Fight time was fast only around 20 min fish estimated over well over 500lbs

When u fell over it was like the line broke but you were still on, what was the story there?

I wish I knew , I have a few different thoughts I personally think my first fish spit it and another fish ate it . We were marking large packs of fish . But who knows !

If you have caught abunch of them it happens often, it’s just the fish changing directions when it’s rippin. Probably was running away and turned quickly right back twords the boat. I jig and pop bluefin in the North East and the same thing happens pretty often. Sick bite 🤙
