If you have the time in the morning: empty the drinkers in the evening (birds don't drink at night anyway). Fill them up in the morning. Saves you the hassle to defrost them

Curious about the larger outdoor flight as that’s is what I have as well.. did your canaries move into the indoors for the evening? I’m assuming the interior was also an open flight situation and not individual cages? I’ve kept society finches outdoors without concern.. first year I’m contemplating leaving my javas out as well.. trying to wrap my head around managing it

No they stay outside in the flights all year round, but I do put plastic screening over the front of the aviaries so they only feel the temperature. I’ve had javas in a completely open outdoor flight whilst snowing, they LOVE it! That said, they did have the option of flying into an indoor section to escape to cold and wind

Let me confirm.. you didn’t even cover the hardware cloth with plastic so the javas did have access to wind and snow outside? Just add heat to the interior of the loft.. I once kept pigeons.. hence the large set up

Hello Great video from DK but instead off plastic at The front I use fibertex then it stays nice and dry inside The aviary

Your birds are amazing and so are your videos! Do you know any finch breeder in south east? I want a pair and it’s very hard to find them here. Tks and keep the nice videos coming!

What is the ideal cage size for producing Red Crossbills?
@OCAVIARY Жыл бұрын
I’ve had best results in flights, however 4ftx2ftx3ft may be sufficient enough

I love all your birds they look very healthy shows me how well you keep them and I’m ready to see every day when you post something new but I would like you to breed actually to crossbreed a green singer with a goldfinch European goldfinch actually it is very hard here in Miami Florida to find goldfinch to purchase even to find green singers I’ve seen people crossbreed a lot of species but I haven’t seen no one cross green singer with European goldfinch I was hoping knowing your expertise that you might be able to cross these species and show the result
