Thanks so much! With me being an active soccer player, having jumpers knee really slows my team down because most of them rely on me to direct them and to teach them skills and ball control. I'm hoping I can get my knee better soon so I can be better out on the field and kick some-- never mind.

jumpers knee doesn't go away from icing or doing these stupid stretches. You have to condition it without feeling any pain. The goal is to build up the tolerance your pattela tendon can handle without going overboard

+lasse skarpengland broscience lol. I hear doctors say all the time about breaking down scar tissue with massages. If it's more serious then you'll need surgery.
@skarpengland
@skarpengland 7 жыл бұрын
Well of course it's possible to break down scar tissue. Like, it's logical. If you can rip up scar tissue with a sprint after an injury, you can also apply mechanical force to break the tissue. :D
@gizmokaiba
@gizmokaiba 7 жыл бұрын
Don´t know your educational level in this field but you are mixing up mechanical forces. To break scar tissue/tendons during muscle load( sprint) is a completely diffrent force comparing to try to push on scar tissue from the outside. It´s impossible to break/remove/cut scar tissue from the outside without breaking/destroying overlaying skin. That´s why it´s a surgical procedure. To break a tendon/scar tissue while lengtening or and shortening it during diffrent kind of muscle work does of course not effect ocerlaying skin.
@skarpengland
@skarpengland 7 жыл бұрын
I have done some 1-years of sports, fysiology and anatomy. nothing big, but starting medicine in september. I kinda see your point, as scar tissue have very good endurance against squeezing, as opposed to pulling the fibers from each other, however, many massage-methods take advantage of "Hurting" the muscle/scar tissue to stimulate it to start a new inflammation and starting the repair process all over again, so you can excercise the muscle the right way to make the scar tissue "lay itself" along the muscle in the direction it's being used. But i see your point, it IS incredibly hard to break down scar tissue from outside, but it is NOT impossible. If it were impossible, we would be impervious to any damage from outside. we are not.
