Ocean Man but you're a Navy SEAL rescuing hostages from Somali pirates

Piracy off the coast of Somalia occurs in the Gulf of Aden, Guardafui Channel and Somali Sea. Somali pirates have attacked hundreds of vessels in the Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean region, though most attacks do not result in a successful hijacking. In 2008, there were 111 attacks which included 42 successful hijackings. On 8 April 2009, four Somali pirates seized MV Maersk Alabama 240 nautical miles southeast of the Somalia port city of Eyl. On 12 April 2009, U.S. Navy SEAL snipers killed the three pirates who were holding Captain Richard Phillips hostage aboard a lifeboat from Maersk Alabama after determining that Captain Phillips' life was in immediate danger. As of 2013 three international naval task forces operated in the region, with numerous national vessels and task forces entering and leaving the region, engaging in counter-piracy operations for various lengths of time.

I remember when the piracy crisis was at its peak and Europe "Tried to take the lead" IE do little if anything, most of the time paying them the ransoms, then as this encouraged more hijacking attempts the US started sending special forces, same with Russia while they also started hiring PMC's to guard their ships. An event that made Euro's screech about the poor pirates human rights and how this wouldn't slow piracy at all but cause a humanitarian catastrophe. Ohh boy I wonder where all those pirate hijackings are now compared to back then?

I'm gonna share a completely unrelated story my grandfather rold me about his time in 'Nam. He was in his M551 Sheridan light tank, and because Charlie always shot the Sheridan with the most Antennas (usually a command tank) the tied down 5 or 6 of them. And once they got ambushed he cut the cords holding them down a bit too early, so the VC lit his tank up instead of the lead one, so he got back on his fifty and returned fire. It's an impressive story to me at least, but I felt the need to share it

I’m gonna be dead honest this is my favorite in the “popular music with combat” genre. Because I love how chill ocean man is as a song, so it has a bit of the obvious contrasting humor where you can just visualize the violence taking place in a really serious situation. But it also can come off a bit hopeful, where despite how desperate the situation is, it is almost as if the song it self knows it’s going to be alright in the end. It has two very different ways to enjoy it. It’s a good pick.
