Just to let the people that posted a comment about feminazis and reverse sexism know, the way the movie business currently operates, there is absolutely no way that this movie was made without the input of a handful of men. If anything, it's unfortunate that women are being thrown into a fizzled-out franchise but this is definitely not the 'feminists ruining your movies', this is a studio making an adjustment to try to make money, just like with any other remake. The name "Ocean's ___" is trademarked and familiar to many. It needs a refresh (because the last few sucked) and a good way to do it while increasing it's cash potential might be to help introduce a new market to the equation. Also, this isn't a franchise about lumberjacks or firefighters. It's a film adjusting an older story to the social changes in the 21st century, where the economy is still slowly shifting towards equality, where women can do jobs differently to how men did them before but just as good and yet generally payed less for it. Can this movie suck? Yes it can. Will it? We'll have to see.

I think what you mean to say is that somewhere someone is getting paid less than someone else for the exact same job. There isn't this broad conspiracy to systematically pay women less by an overarching patriarchal elite. If there was, we'd see a lot of companies hiring exponentially more women than men, because it would turn in much higher profitability for these companies (unless you're The Huffington Post or Buzzfeed where you're literally making a political statement through your hiring practices). I think we can both agree that both sides have data suggesting the other is wrong. I'm not going to try to pretend I know why exactly but in my view a lot of the time a business will be like: "women weak, pay them less. I am not sure it was sexist but the other things to steal had kind of been done :) Plus to me it was reminiscent of the Pink Panther only not as farce or the old movies about stealing art and today's fashion is borderline art, gotta admit tho the idea of doing the Met gala is brill.
