I appreciate that you showed us how you mix your paint in the cups. You'd be surprised that for something that is so simple and routine to you just isn't clear to someone like me who's never done it. Most people just rattle off their ratios and I'm not always clear what 50 percent this to 30 percent that to half water to 50 percent glue and the percentages don't add up to a hundred and then I'm all confused. You were very precise with your measurements and there was no confusion or muddled ratios. I think with your specific instructions I can probably do this too. And your sand was gorgeous.

Thank you! Ocean Colors: Masters Touch Ocean Green Masters Touch Emerald Green Artists Loft Metallic Cobalt Blue Masters Touch Liquid Acrylic Blue Sand Colors: Custom Mix of Masters Touch Titanium White, Masters Touch Warm Gray, Masters Touch Antique Gold. For the darker one it’s: 0.5oz Antique Gold, 0.25oz Warm Gray, 0.25oz Titanium White For the lighter one it’s: 0.35oz Antique Gold, 0.15oz Warm Gray, 0.5oz Titanium White. The white I use for my swipe color is Masters Touch Titanium White. This is a 12”x24” panel so I used 1oz of paint to 4oz of floetrol per color. But make sure to watch the part about consistency! A little water may need to be added. I have another very quick video about how to mix your paint! kzbin.info/www/bejne/aF7daH2prrODhbs

Good stuff. I learned much. Don’t forget to remind folks to clean off the small squares when swiping the foam. It’s very difficult to recover when I got beach color mixed into the white. Better yet I need a whole stack of them and only use each once.

What a great tutorial! This is just what I was hoping for to help me with this technique and swipes in general. My other two ocean swipes that I attempted did NOT come out like this at all, and while they have their own charm, I'd really like to nail this down a little better. My paint consistencies were too thin I can tell now, and my white might be too thick in comparison, and my swipe plastic sheet was too thick, sturdy and it was uneven as I swiped. Thanks for putting this together, I appreciate what you put into this!
@artbystudioten3 жыл бұрын
Hey!! I thought I had responded to your super sweet comment a long time ago! Thank you so much for commenting! ☺️ I was hoping this tutorial would be helpful! I’m currently working on trouble shooting a Dutch pour version. I’m definitely partial to the swipe method for an ocean pour. The Dutch is a lot of variables, like technique of how you angle the blow dryer. So I’m worried about repeatability as a tutorial. But maybe I’ll get it locked down and able to do a tutorial! Anyways, thank you for all your support!!
