Dire I think what you should start working on is enchanting a pair of boots to have Frost Walker on them. Not only will they turn the ocean to ice allowing you to Traverse without a boat but it will turn the lava in the nether into obsidian allowing you to more easily avoid the ghast and form a solid platform for their drops

I did the smart thing, made 4 soul jars and a soulium dagger, put on a jetpack, killed a bunch of ghasts and made ghast seeds.

@@joshuahellfire3287 He could easily use the lava generators since all he'd have to do is make more and upgrade them and then have a liquid trashcan so it never turns itself off because he fills up a tank. (That and actually learning to use the glass jar mod since he has had access to the blue magma block since episode 2 which has the highest heat)

In every single Direwolf20 let's play since I started watching him in 2019, I don't think I've ever seen him ever use a brewing stand even once aside as maybe a crafting ingredient once or twice. Even if he tried to use it, I doubt he even knows which recipes make which potion.

Unless it's a crafting ingredient or an absolute necessity, dire very rarely messes with any sort of potions. Generally, he'll automate things to the point where he just gets busted armour and never needs potions. He might make the mekanism suit again since he's using mekanism machines again

Hey Dire, I figured out why your trash can slot keeps disappearing! There's a hotkey that is default bound to 't' called "Show/Hide TrashSlot"!

Note for those who don't know: ghasts do not spawn over lava, you need solid blocks for them to spawn above.

Could be worth bringing an overworld painting to any new dimension just in case. Also take off your diving gear when adventuring you don't need it in other dimensions lol.

At least with there being nothing but lava around, the ghasts can only really hurt you with a dead on hit. If they miss, there's zero damage, when usually you might take some splash

Dire, I believe you are at the point where you can easily make an automated power generation setup (gas burning generator) for lots of power and to upgrade your jetpack to top tier, making ghast fighting a lot easier.

He's had the ability to have automated power since episode 2 with the lava generator.... He's just not using it and trying to rush things and hitting a wall of his own making.

Dire I have no idea why you complain about power when you have a way to produce unlimited lava and the magma generators (Just put a liquid trash bucket so it doesn't auto stop due to filling up) You have an easy source of scaling power and not even touching it and some how thinking solar was a better idea. Also you could set up a mob farm with cursed earth and the many different ways to kill off mobs automatically (and with luck) which will also give you XP... Just make sure to use a water to turn it off so you don't have a repeat of the animal spawns...

The downside is also that it’s on command. It’s great when there is something just out of reach or stuck in your mob spawn but not overly helpful wandering around. I was actually disappointed when I found out that I had to activate it when I wanted it to magnet.

I know this is unrelated but, do you guys know any good power storage mods other than draconic? I do not have access to draconic, i've considered the mekanism power cells but theyre expensive to make a multiblock out. I currently have a little setup of just HV Capacitors from Immersive Engineering but connecting them all to eachother is very tedious with the hammer. PS: I'm playing a modpack called Automaton on 1.12, the mods i have access to are in there.

I have been using integrated dynamics. The batteries can be combined in the crafting grid to combine their storage capacity. I currently have a single battery in a 1 block space that holds about 300m RF. There's nothing stopping it from holding more, I just don't need more storage yet. They're pretty easy to craft, too, only requiring menril resin and Redstone. There is currently a glitch when combining batteries. Whether or not you want to make use of it is up to you. When combining batteries, it takes the storage capacity of the entire stack of batteries into account, so if you're combining one battery with a stack of 64 batteries, it will add 64m RF to the capacity while only using up a single battery for crafting.

@@elevown He said as much in the video. He considers them mid to late game and thus doesn’t want to use them at this point. Others here have pointed out that he shouldn’t be using other end game quest rewards if that is his take on it (like the ultimate compactor). But ultimately, he’ll play the way he wants to play and we’re just along for the ride.

@@Kzorith funny part is, the pack creators expect you to use them by this point in the nether, as they made the place extra hostile. The obsidian boat was just supposed to be a gag / way to get back to your corpse. But here's Dire, doing a Dire 🤣🤣 Honestly, it's more of a gag to see him try, because it reinforces the fact that you should be at least trying to use an iron jetpack.
