Despite the conditions, and so many in need. Team OCN did an outstanding job saving so many! Sad that so many were affected, but it looks like a success, and all will heal and live another day! CRAZY!

Good day Tony and Denzil. That was quite a haul in spite of the fog! The second little chunky one was too cute...he told you exactly how he felt before leaving, . The pup that was so pissed off at you is finally free of that awful rope but you could see why he was agitated. A lot of Snoek lines this morning too. You and Denzil did a great job. Thanks!

Thank you for your kind words! While we’re deeply committed to helping the seals, we know our work is just a small part of a much bigger battle. Our rescues highlight the urgent need to address the root causes of ocean pollution-like our reliance on single-use plastics and the gaps in law enforcement and recycling efforts.

They break my heart and I get too discouraged but people have to understand that what they do every day matters. Thank you all and may all of you human and those you serve be safe.

I absolutely adore the way Antoine talks to the seals. Sweet calming. He has the heart of pure gold. They all do, but i have become addicted to that sweet voice. Some of them really do realize you are helping. I love when they stop and look back at you guys like, hey that was not so bad, i feel better thanks. I would give so much to be able to join this cruel, I have always wanted to be an advocate for wildlife. In a way i already am for the local animals. People know me so well i have strangers showing up at my door with something injured asking me for help. Birds are not my strength though. I have had to step away from it though do to monsters for neighbors who purposely ended some of the squirrels i had bonded with. The decided there were too many squirrels coming for the acorn trees and dropping acorns, they got traps, let just say the cops were involved along with wildlife advocates. So now im distancing myself from bonding. I have saved raccoons and squirrels. I literally brought a baby squirrel back to life. He was in his last moments of hypothermia. A few years ago my fav squirrel had 6 babies in the spring, we got a freak ice rain storm and it destroyed her drey. We noticed her trying to stuff some of her babies into a birdhouse. They had just started venturing the day before, but had no strength to climb wet icey boards. My daughter and i went ou to check around and boo/mom got our attention and went over to one of her babies on the ground and started licking him. We thought it was goodbye. As she ran off we noticed one tiny finger moved, We went back and grabbed towels and picked up the 2 babies on the ground, after about 15 mins or more of vigorous rubbing and cpr, baby made a squeak. Such a feeling of relief. Sadly we were too late for the little girl. But it was a happy reunions later that day., after hours of rest and warming. He suddenly snapped to and was not happy with his situation. Mom came to the door for a peanut and got her son back instead. Peanut forgotten, lol. My biggest regret as not recording. We got to watch him grow into a big healthy boy. Saving an animals life is a great reward. I have vid on my channel of some of my favs. I have not uploaded my raccoon vids yet. Dita who helped me get through covid lock down and loved to sit in my lap and eat her dinner every eve. and play. The baby last summer who was far too young to be on his own. He would let me pet him while he ate. He grew bigger after a few months then just vanished. I knew when he came, he always used the roof and came down the corner of the building. I had never seen a raccoon able to do that before. But he was just a tiny guy. I was heartbroken when he stopped coming. They act a cross between a cat and dog. And Dita was very emotional. If dinner was late she snuffed at me and pretended to ignore me. But if we played and she accidently scratched me, she would lower her head and pout. She also foster mommed a group of 7 baby skunks who also came to my yard. One she was obsessed with and would pin her down and love her up and pet her. The babies never minded her. Then came Jack. skinny and lonely. He finally forced a friendship with another smaller raccoon who really wanted nothing to do with him to begin with. He would keep walking toward her and she would snap and him and he would bop her on the head as if to say now stop that. Look im sharing my food with you. He always left her portion when he ate. I would take an animal any day over a human. Ok now that i wrote a book. Hope everyone is having a good NEW YEAR! Especially the earth angels.

It may seem like very rough treatment holding a pup down like that. But its just to make sure it doesnt get in more harm then necessary when they remove the razorsharp strings from the fishing lines. Once thorugh the skin they carve through muscles and tendons very quickly. So if it is needed with firm handson treatment we simply have to do it. Thanks OCN.
