So many fun ideas! I'm keeping the video for future reference for when my little one will begin going to school. I'm dreading and excited for when that does happen, lol! He'll be able to start going to kindergarten (or whatever the name for the part before primary school is) when he turns 2 1/2 years old (children in Belgium can start their first year of education that early if the school accepts, and I do hope the one we're sending our little one to will). School in Belgium begins the 1st weekday of September, so this year, the 3rd.

thanks for sharing! i see! i hope these help! i think these japanese foods are the ones possible to take to schools overseas~ in japan we usually pack the leftover foods from dinner. also we have many kawaii and delicious frozen food for bento. this is why mommies here can make bento in a busy morning~ haha
@nimedhel096 жыл бұрын
Haha! I see. I find it really fun to try and make food from different parts of the world, too, so that helps. I made onigiri yesterday and baby and daddy were really happy about it. I really enjoy watching your videos, too, because they make me want to try different things and go a bit outside my comfort zone in the cooking area, hahaha! As for food in school, in my country, it depends from family to family, because the school offers lunch at midday for the children, but some parents prefer to pack food for their kids themselves. I think in pre-school and primary school, most children eat the food from the school, but, in secondary school, more teens eat other food, like homemade lunches, or, if they have the written authorisation from their parents, they can eat at home if they live near the school.
@ochikeron6 жыл бұрын
wow really!? eating at home sounds very interesting~ hehe but i want to do so if possible, so great option :)

If someone wanted to try your recipes, but couldn't have the nori, what would you recommend as a substitute?

good question. maybe cooked spinach leaf? something in dark green is okay. but not for onigiri! you can make onigiri without nori 👍kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHfcl4OspJ5qjrM

Hi Ochikeron. My son has asked me to start doing bento boxes for lunch. When you put rice, tonkatsu sandwiches, etc, are they very cold by the time the child eats lunch in school, or do the food items stay kind of warm? Do you worry the food will go bad if it isn't refrigerated? Thanks!
@ochikeron6 жыл бұрын
if in summer i worry so i always put ice packs in my kid's bento. bento is usually eaten at a room temperature. a bit cold is absolutely better than warm.
@remarkable9376 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Do you heat up the food before putting it into the bento box?
@ochikeron6 жыл бұрын
you mean the leftovers? it depends but better to~ anyway you don't pack individual dishes when they are hot, so better to pack everything when they are at room temp.
@ochikeron6 жыл бұрын
everything are cooked, cool down to the room temp, then pack
