might be a dumb question - but why is this course 3.7 mi, higher than the regular 5k sprints ? Thanks in advance.. trying to prepare as much as I can before my race in a few weeks !

Great question! That's know as "Spartan Miles" meaning Spartan Race never sticks to a set or advertised distance for their courses. 99% of the time, the courses are longer than the standard 5k, 10k, 13mile lengths they associate with the Sprint, Super, and Beast. It's kind of always been that way, at least for us. Their old slogan used to be "You'll Know at the Finish Line" meaning you'll know how long the race really is once it's done. Hope this helps!
