I don't recall having an interview to get into OCS, but I did have to take a test. I was fresh out of boot camp graduating at the top. Circa 1956.

I was about to ask when you joined, and you said it there. 1956! Lots of respect to you, Sir. Now, you need to have an interview and get a higher score on ASVAB GT Line than enlisted members. I heard USAF has a separate test for officers, at least according to my friend who's served in AF for 8 years.

Good stuff. I’m having my army reserve OCS board this week at my local recruiting center virtually. Do you know if officer also have sign on bonus like some enlisted positions? My recruiter didn’t mention anything bonus related. I’m trying to get on signal or cyber side.

If you are reservist “yes” just depends on what they have available based on your location

wait, so you only had to do the interview, I suppose some psychological question/evaluation and asvab basically. that's all? like no ground test or anything?

They do a form of psychologically evaluation at MEPS its like 100 something question quiz. If you exemplify strong leadership traits and experience from the civilian side. But the real test is getting thru OCS, so you can be officially commission as an officer. If that makes sense

My folks are military but they didnt know much as far as the officer process. Its not that hard, the only "stressful" part was the board meeting. You going to have anxiety regardless but just be cool calm and collective. I thought my interview was trash but they gave me the green light

My MOS is 09 Sierra and ship off date to basic is in a couple months. Do you take the interview right after basic?

What interview after basic ? You going to OCS right after unless you are Guard and you can do state OCS it’s a different process. An 09s simplistic saying are you going the officer route. It’s necessarily not an MOS. Unless you are reserve you would know your job. But If you are active you don’t have a MOS until you to go to OCS

Do you have to do a test similar to the AFOQT the OAR🤔 ?

@@sethwatters99 I know what the AFOQT is but not sure what a OAR is. Only test I took was the PICAT
