My uncle lived in Belle air just outside of Tampa Bay. Back in the early 00's they raised his homeowners insurance from 1500 a year to 11,000 a year. He owned the home so he just cancelled his insurance and took on the risk himself. He has since passed, but, I am wondering how many people were and are like him who do not have coverage or can't pay for full coverage. Hurricanes are a way of life for people who live in Florida.

And now 10 hours later Milton is a cat 5 with winds of 180 mph and a central pressure of 905 mb. Truly incredible how quickly this thing has intensified.

Having ridden out quite a few bad storms on Galveston Bay in Texas I can say that being without power for two weeks is tough. My heart goes out to those people without power for two months after Helene. For those in Florida preparing for Milton I would get ready for a storm surge much higher than you would see with a category 2 or 3. Hurricane Ike in 2008 made landfall as a category 2 storm but had previously been a much stronger category 4 storm. The storm surge was measured a peak of 22 ft. in Galveston Bay. Even if the hurricane weakens before landfall it will take time for the surge of water created to dissipate. I fear for those in the path of this storm and I would use the next few days to prepare. Good luck and God Bless...

I know you were right about your prediction about natural weather. I understand it is the weather patents that are the variable that messes up your awesome work.

I think more of WI had frost than they predicted. We had frost this morning near Green Bay.

absolutely nuts on how quick this intensified.

@@Nutrien_AgSolutions the conspiracy theories out there said this is man made for the TAMPA BAY SMART CITY , something similar to what happens in Maui fire in Hawaii.

@@RobiPerk0125that’s insane because all that had to be done is build a new city. Smart cities are being built almost every “western country” but the USA and they have no need for man made storms. It’s crazy what people are saying about these storms. We can all go back and see that the USA has seen multiple storms in one year every so often. Cheers from NC.

No it isn’t. Don’t give the govt such credit as to be able to control a hurricane. Seriously man.
