I'm actually glad that you don't use your cricut to cut these out. pretty much every video I watch these days is"we'll show you how to make XYZ", except they don't because it's all cricuts, laser printers and 3d printers. so I'm very happy to see that you just use a craft knife. not everyone has these machines. not everyone wants them. not everyone can afford them. but the way it's all being portrayed, its like "you can't do anything without this machine". sorry for the rant.

This video inspired me to use watercolor pencils and paint a pretty pink girlie ghost to put in my October spread. Instead of traditional Halloween, I decided to do a pink spread for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It's going to be so much fun!!

Little ghosties! So cute. It took me a few months of printing my header stickers to get them all! I have my staples and then a bunch that I rotate into different months. I cannot do the daily doodle every month! I am really liking the washi sticker paper for its thinness. Maybe I won't break my journal spine this time! 😆

I love this set up. All the ghosts are adorable. I see no reason not to do a spooky set up for November as well. My birthday is November 3rd so it usually is in the same planner week as Halloween, so I always use a spooky kit that week. Hope you have a lovely trip to Sydney.

I can see the resemblance, yeah! The actual Nightmare Before Christmas font has the serifs exaggerated a bit more, but it'd be another one that would work well with finding the font online and printing it on sticker paper 🤙💜

I get you! I do that sometimes too 💪 I just find that I also have this odd relationship with doing things that make life easier but are a mild inconvenience to me in the moment 😂 e.g. sitting at my desk feeling cold for 30 minutes before I FINALLY throw in the towel and go turn the heater on/get a blanket/whatever else, lol. By setting up my monthly log to be left-aligned, I'm saving myself from stubborn future-Jess 😝

Ooh, Sydney bookshops, you say? I don't know if you're looking for ideas on places to go, but if you are, I recommend Gould's in Newtown (second-hand, extremely cool), Gleebooks in Glebe (really cool independent line), and Abbey's/Galaxy and Kinokuniya in the city! (Also if you like music, Red Eye Records is like three doors down from Abbey's/Galaxy, both are across the road from the QVB, which connects to Town Hall Station.) Funnily enough, I'm actually going to Melbourne next month, haha. PAX AUS time!

It's mainly about applying light pressure, but even if I do press a little too hard, I make sure to do the cutting out on a cutting mat so I don't do any desk damage 😊

Bleed through will be a paper and pen combo issue 🤔 I'm using a 160 gsm paper notebook with water-based pens if that helps! All the pens I've used are linked in the description box, but primarily I use Tombows to add colour 😊

The ruler definitely needed to be about 2-3 cm's longer so that you can actually draw a line the full length of the B5 page, but that's genuinely my only complaint when I use mine! The curved edges are fantastic for those like myself with a fear of stabbing their eyes on random sharp edged items, but in having them curved the ability to draw right from top to bottom was lost. 🥲

Thankfully, I’m primarily using mine in an A5 so it’s not too bad, but I would like an A5 size one so that then it has the appropriate halfway marks 🤔

@@JashiiCorrin you could always use a permanent marker to put a small dot under the A5 relevant numbers so you don't have to choose. And if you use different colours you could also mask in the square. 😉
