Because Japan generally has high humidity, I think your mold issues stem from that.. in which case you need a dehumidifier, not an air purifier.

You know, I really look up to Ryan so it makes me sad to hear that someone who has achieved so much at such a young age is feeling so lost. I think in your early twenties it’s normal to feel lost and without a purpose. I can’t imagine how hard it would be to be in a foreign country by yourself without a clear goal or routine. In general, being an ‘influencer’ or creator is something that requires so much discipline and self-motivation that I think can get difficult sometimes. Especially when you compare yourself to your peers that didn’t take a big risk and are living more conventional lives than you are. I don’t know that much about Ryan besides from a few videos and some of his podcast, but I think it’s really inspirational that someone overcame odds that felt impossible and went on to be able to turn sharing his thoughts and experiences into a career!

Most foreigners never try to assimilate into the local culture. They don't try to make friends with the locals. So they feel lonely and lost. It's the same for foreigners in the USA. They feel lost and lonely in America.

Ryan, I have a quote for you that I live by. “You can’t control the wind but you can adjust your sails. It’s not about what happens to you, it’s how you react to make a better choice. Love you sooo much Ryan, wish you all the best in life 🫰🏽🫰🏽

the opening segment is really resonating with me as someone also in their early twenties and i'm literally in the american midwest... i always find myself running away to japan to be with my friends and my partner and use these trips as my only motivation but when it's over and i come back home, life feels so slow and empty. i find that journaling and having small goals to want to accomplish help me stay focused and push through the days. it's okay to feel lost but i feel like the best things happen when we least expect them to
@blkpaint719924 күн бұрын
ig one way I can give some tip/advice for wanting to spend your days with purpose. Art. Either something like drawing, sketching, digital, by hand, stories, writing, animation... just putting creativity into your day and maybe even trying to make a series or story that you want to work for can bring quite some purpose and reason to your time. Maybe even publish and show it online to share it and some support for people's entertainment

6:49 the mold is caused by moisture in the air. An air purifier won't stop any mold growth as it won't be removing any moisture from the air. you need a dehumidifier as that removes moisture from the air!

It's so real to feel lost, and getting out of university with a job like content creation literally leaves everything up to yourself and that is SO daunting. I and many other fans really look up to you Ryan, and having come so far all by yourself should tell you that you can probably do anything you put your mind to. Hopefully you can find something productive alongside content creation (if you want to continue that) so your days feel more structured!!

Ryan, I can only speak for myself, but in answer to a comment you made, I find your videos interesting because you are a guy who is living well outside the comfort zone you grew up in. I don't think the things you do are weird, unusual or strange - most are ordinary but because you are a "stranger in a strange land" you often have to do them differently. I also enjoy your straight shooting (no pun intended) honest commentary on your life. Of course I enjoy your traveling and exploring but just spending time "with you" is fun. Good wishes and take care.

You have an amazing opportunity to take a little time to look at your values and decide how you want to use your skills combined with your values to chart a course for how you will contribute to the betterment of society, and that's awesome. I jumped right from university into a career, and rode it all these years. Having a moment to breath before you get swept up into the rest of your life, which will come so quickly is fantastic.

Hi Ryan! I’ve always been a bit of a silent follower of yours, but I have a interest in everyday life in other countries which is what drew me to your content. I understand your feelings of being a bit lost in life, even though I’m about 10 years older than you. I think everyone has these moments, regardless of situation, regardless of age. I know this isn’t massively helpful, but know you are not alone!

@OwainDavies9824 күн бұрын
As someone else in their 20s who also feels very lost at times, there’s not really an immediate solution for getting rid of that feeling, but there are things that you can do to minimize those feelings. Travel is definitely a worthwhile outlet, an escape is very much necessary sometimes. I’m going to Japan at the end of November for the second time and having that to look forward to and plan for occupies my time. Taking up hobbies or classes (streaming, dance, craft, etc.) can provide a bit more of a routine as well. The hardest part of leaving post-secondary is breaking that cycle you’ve been in for over a decade - building a routine and finding friends (whether virtual or in person) can be very cathartic! Even if you get a very casual job, that can provide some grounding as you get into a routine again. TLDR: You are not alone in these feelings and I know you’ll be able to find ways to reduce them!

Ryan!!! Thank you for another relaxing sunday video :3 I always have my morning coffee with it. As someone who is not too much older then you, finding comfort in your own presence is such a hard thing to do but worth the effort. After I moved 2k miles from home, I felt a similar feeling to you. I found myself traveling for work and friendships and any opportunity to get myself a form my excitement. However, over time I decided to spend more time at home. Currating my space to be somewhere I actually enjoyed spending time in. Decorating, and ~cozy~-fying my home encouraged me to not want to be anywhere else. I got into house plants, I started gaming a little and got back into anime. I was able to comfortably revisit things I enjoyed when I was younger (and stuck at home hehe). You got this no matter what direction you decide to go in. You will find it.

doing something knew everyday, even if it's something small like trying a new food from 7/11, helps keep life exciting. idk where i heard that from but i agree with it. It can feel a bit boring if every day is repetitive. But routines are also nice, so its about finding a balance.

Anytime you leave the country, you need to have a dehumidifier going. The kind the a hose, so you can have the hose down the drain in your kitchen floor (if you have one) and in the bathroom. OR have a friend who can come over and dump the water every night. Now that winter is coming, it is less humid, but you still need to have a dehumidifier running if you go out of town. This is my second time living in Japan and the first time I lived in Okinawa and didn't know how terrible the humidity was and some of my designer purses got ruined with mold. NOW, I live in Tokyo and we have had no issues. We even traveled the entire summer and had ZERO mold. We ran a dehumidifier in the upstairs of my house and the downstairs. Some of the wall AC units have a dry setting, which work ok, but not as good as a dehumidifier.
