Your sweater is going to be amazing! Can't wait to see it done. I'm so happy you read Frankenstein and liked it! It's in my top 5. Such a powerful book about empathy. Added most of these books to my library queue, thank you for all these spooky book reviews

I’m gonna listen to Ezra Furman for sure. And I’m so happy you’re enjoying the books! Most of these are some of my all time favourites haha! Carmilla is so great, a lesbian vampire predates Dracula, I mean how awesome is that. I recommend you read either The lottery and other stories or Haunting of Hill house next for Jackson! Also, they made a movie about her a few years back that was really good. I think it’s just called Shirley.

Very cool! I can't wait to get to those two Shirley Jackson books!

OMG! Could River be any cuter at the end? 💕 I'm listening to House of Hollow, which I think was one of your earlier recommendations. Loving it! No leaf crunching here in TX... yet.

Loved these vlogs, thanks so much for making them. Currently I am working on a pair of striped leg warmers for my eldest daughter who will be 21a week before Christmas. I am also still have my portage cardigan in a bag, but I have had to put it on the back burner for now, while I get these birthday present warmers finished. The only other thing that I am occasionally working on is my habitation throw, I am making it rainbow colours, with a huge mini set by @layfamilyyarns. I can't wait to see it completed, but it will probably take some time.😁

Enjoyed this episode so much!!! Wuthering Heights is one of my favorites! It is definitely worth giving it another shot. It is a really good book. Also watch some of the movies based on the boom as well. One of the best renditions is from 1939😉 Love the mini book reviews and your sweater progress🙃. Loved seeing your roller skates 🛼 They were so pretty.

I had a terrible English Lit experience in my first year of college too. It was so bad that I got up in the middle of class (all eight of us) and walked out and disenrolled myself from college altogether. I really thought I couldn't do it. Here I am now 25 years later with a master's degree that I earned a 4.0 in. I sure wish some college professors were more in tune with their students because they can make you feel so stupid, whether that is their intent or not.

Love the books you chose, we have very similar tastes! I just started the House of Hollow audiobook and I'm so completely hooked -- I agree with you on Mexican Gothic and Moreno-Garcia! I really wanted to love the book and it has all of the elements I usually enjoy, but the writing was not for me. I've tried 2 other books by her and unfortunately had to DNF.

Ooh, listening to House of Hollow for the first time! Something I wish I could do again. 😆

I feel the same way about Mexican Gothic. I really wanted to like it but I thought it was boring. I wish you well with Wuthering Heights. It's not my favorite but I'll be interested in your perspective. I'm so sorry you had a bad English class experience. When the teacher is good it can be pure magic. I'm almost finished with my Sipila by Caitlin Hunter. I think it's gorgeous but it's really big on me. I took a close look at the pictures and I think that's the way it's supposed to fit.

I agree about good professors. I went on to have an amazing English professor and I took a few of her classes and developed a really great relationship with her. It's funny because the books that she really liked and assigned in class were also ones that I didn't really like, but the experience was still so good and enriching!

I think you might like a book series by Vered Ehsani. Society for Paranormals. The first book is The Ghosts of Tsavo. Kind of gothic, kind of quirky. Has an awesome female character, Beatrice Knight. Never boring!!! I didn't like Mexican gothic either. It was a dull brick of a book. I couldn't finish it I was so bored!

I would love a list of your 50 (or 20 etc) very most new favorite books ever :D what I read: 1.5 books in the Locked Tomb series and All Good People Here. I wouldn't recommend the latter. Locked Tomb is great for it's queer elements and its truly grotesque descriptors used in the most casual way, but it also *drags on* in a way that makes me feel two books could have been one and turned me off of the third.
