It was so nice to see your face again ❤ I’m going to say YES PLEASE to a hat video, as I know exactly nothing about hat knitting (I think I’ve knitted a couple in my life) and would love to get into it.

I will start planning my hat video now! It's nice to have time to make videos again after the rush to moving. Looking forward to your next podcast :)

I'd keep the tank neckline, it definitely looks polished enough! I'm glad you introduced me to the Sophie scarf. I'm knitting your Claudia Sweater as I watch :)

Oh how wonderful. I hope you love it. The Sophie Scarf is so great for stashbusting or last minute gifts.

Your knits are beautiful. The camisole is so nicely done. I would not take back the neckline. It looks fine.

Your episode put such a smile on my face. I'm Italian but I live in the UK, my local Merceria back home not only sold pants and socks, but some toys and some stationary as well! I never thought it strange until now 😂😂

I suppose it's just practical to offer lots of different things! I still get the feeling that people think knitting is a weird hobby here - but I do almost always get complimented by a fellow knitter if I'm working on something in public (which is really nice).

For fit, I like the DRK Everyday socks and the Bear Paw socks by Andrea Mowry. The fleegle heel just suits my foot perfectly. Failing that, heel flap and gusset is my preferred option. Short row heels just do not fit me. Depends on your shape of foot, though, obviously. Love all your knits and good luck in any socky adventures 😊xx

These are great suggestions. I have been a bit put off socks because of the poor fit, but may have to check these out when I decide to try again. Thanks for watching!

I completely agree with you about twisted rib! I'm so glad to meet someone else who prefers it! In terms of socks, I would recommend trying an ergonomic toe-- Knitty Natty talks about it in her channel! And the Academic Vest is stunning! I can't wait to see how that goes!

Yes, I love twisted rib! I will check out the Knitty Natty info on socks - thanks for the great advice. I can find socks so tricky!

I just completed a Sophie scarf. It is quite short but can be tied with a single wrap. I had 44 grams of malabrigo sock yarn (color Cereza) left after knitting a hat. Not enough yarn but something that wraps twice but it is ok.

What a stunning colourway - I'm sure it looks fab. It's such a relaxing little project.

Nice to see you after such a busy few months, glad the new apt and job are going well! I love that tank on you with the blazer, I wouldn't redo if I were you hahah looking forward to seeing your new vest wip, curious as to how the colors will all come together 💞
@OrsaMakes2 жыл бұрын
Hi! It feels like I’ve been away for ages, but very good to be back and now getting my knitting mojo in full swing for winter. I’m really hoping the colours will look as cool as my inspiration but we will have to wait and see. I’m definitely leaving the collar - so relieved it isn’t as noticeable as I thought 😅

I also started twisting my knit stitches he I started learning to knit. But I was doing it by wrapping my yarn the wrong way around the needle. All of my first projects have twisted rib and twisted stockinette

I am giggling because I started knitting the same way and now twisted ribs so easy love it

Hello! I agree with Sarah - don't redo the cami - it looks fine. When you do it again, you'll be better at it. BTW - you are a hat girl - you look amazing in hats. You and I are very similar - I love finished edges; can't handle too much in stash because I have little space for storage and just want to use all up; and I too like items oversized. Thanks for sharing. Congrats on your new job and enjoy your new home!

Thank you for your lovely comment. It was nice settling in to our new home, but I'm so happy to get back some of my knitting time! Now I've got to cast on something oversized with nice edges :)

I love your Claudia sweater but I have horrible allergies to mohair. Is it possible to knit it without the mohair?
@OrsaMakes2 жыл бұрын
Hi! Yes, it could be made with a thicker yarn and without the mohair - I think it shouldn't make too much of a difference if you gauge swatch. A wonderful itch-free alternative is an alpaca silk (like the one from Drops). I'm knitting with alpaca silk now and find it has zero itch but is still a bit fuzzy. Here is a link if you are interested: www.garnstudio.com/yarn.php?show=drops-brushed-alpaca-silk&cid=19.

Hi Isy, congratulations with your new job and apartment. I think your camisole No. 5 neckline looks absolutely fine. You can see a bit of imperfection when not wearing, but when you wear it, it's not noticeable at all. Btw the sound is a bit weird (I'm using an earphone). I can hear you talking in my left ear and background music in my right...
@OrsaMakes2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! Oh no - I'll investigate the sound issues. I got a new microphone, but am still figuring out how to use it. Thanks letting me know.

I learned to knit through the back loop as well, it’s not actually “wrong” to do that… it just makes using patterns SLIGHTLY more difficult (I have to remember to change my RLD and LLD). My grandmother and her mother also knit that way their entire lives. It’s actually called combination knitting, I believe. And my stitches don’t look any different than “normal” knit stitches, they’re very neat and tidy.
@OrsaMakes2 жыл бұрын
How interesting! It always felt like the way to do it for me. I might have to research and see if it would improve my speed because I'm quite a slow knitter. Thanks for the tip.
@amandad66992 жыл бұрын
That’s how I learnt too, on straight needles. Working in the round now I have learnt to knit through the front of the stitch, but quickly switch back if I am knitting alternate knit/purl rounds. I am a great believer in that there is no wrong way to knit, as long as you are happy with what you produce it really doesn’t matter how you achieve it.
