I loved Milk Fed, but it's one of those books that I really understand people hating. It's a lot, but to me it was pretty fun and very thought provoking. I really think there's something cool in a woman writing about having sex with another woman in this very raw, physical way that people are turned off. Let's be honest, kinda hard to think of other examples of that. To me it wasn't idk "attention seeking" so much as underlining the connection between food and sex and religion and the kinda grossness of it all - which IT IS if you look at it like you're an alien. Clearly not a book for everyone, but if anyone in the comment section got a strong stomach and is in for a ride - give it a shot!

I dunno I haven’t watched this full video yet, but if it’s not a red flag kinda book I might check it out. As a pansexual Demi woman, I am sometimes attracted to women and have been getting interested in the whole sapphic thing. I think in the context of sex semen and breast milk gross me out, but I love erotic for it’s vulnerability and realness. Might check it out. Thanks for an opposing perspective!

And just to be clear, it's not really a sexy book, but it sure is real and intense about sex. If bodily fluids gross you out, this probably isn't the book though. Look into it and see what's best for you!

I DNF’d Milk Fed because I couldn’t handle the main character’s constant calorie counting. It was really making me anxious. But I also didn’t like Miriam or the pro-IDF comments. I genuinely can’t tell if the author agrees with them or or simply portraying Miriam’s family that way.
