I've always enjoyed Jennifer L Armentrout books for their angst, lusty romances, and quick moving plots. "From Blood and Ash" is just as fun a read, but with a major step up in complexity of characters, plot, and world building. Definitely read book two , "Kingdom of Flesh and Fire". It expands the world even more and explores character development in a much more effective manner than in many of Armentrout's other series.

I loved The Invisible Life of Addie Larue. The tone reminded me a bit of Erin Morgenstern’s The Night Circus and Sea of Stars. I really enjoyed the slow paced, character driven story and lyrical tone.

Hey Regan if you are looking for more by Thomas King I highly recommend Green Grass, Running Water. It is beautifully written and it's probably my favourite book this year and I read it in October. Also if you are wanting to check out more Indigenous Authors I recommend Eden Robinson, Cherie Dimaline, Katherena Vermette, Alicia Elliot and Michelle Good.

I'm SO happy you liked Gideon the Ninth!! 💜💜 I had the same experience: I love Gideon, all the characters and dialogues, but I feel like I had to reread the description parts many times, and the worldbuilding was very, very confusing to me (At least it gets better on the second book)

Loved Gideon the Ninth. hated Harrow the Ninth. If you think Gideon was tough to keep up with Harrow is going to make you want to tear your hair out. But I look forward to it all coming together in Alecto. Enjoyed the Invisible a life of Addie Larue as well but the ending could’ve stopped a bit earlier. Also, could’ve done without his background and just enjoyed more of her history instead. You definitely made me want to read Middlegame. Hollowpox was really good she git me very exited for the next book already.
