Thank you for this comparison, man. I, personally, like that Octopus Kraken has the same blue color on its dial and bezel, while IXDAO has a better clasp and winding screw action. It looks like IXDAO people just don't understand the importance of colors in a watch. All in all, either watch has its positives and negatives. I gather neither is using any titanium surface hardening, do they? It seems that in a few months of use both will be badly scratched if worn regularly.

Iv had my octopus for 3mths+.. Fit and finish is excellent +Still no scratches & don't remove when I sleep.. So far so good. 😊

Same. I ordered a blue Octopus w/ bracelet on Aug 23. Yesterday they replied to me saying they may not be able to source the bracelet whatsoever and even if they do, it will be another 30 days or more. They suggested I cancel. Sheesh! Same with you?

lI like the dial of the IXDAO, but I don't think I would keep either; that's just me. I'd be more likely to get a Steeldive, just based on price and bigger size, even if the look isn't quite right. Coincidentally, I just followed a KZbin tutorial a couple weeks ago, and built my own 43mm automatic dive watch from eBay parts for about $100. I put in a Seamaster dial, but I did use Tudor snowflake hands. It's every bit as nice as these watches, if not nicer (I'm bias, of course). Granted, you need a watch press, some fine tweezers, a micro screwdriver set, and some considerable patience, but the experience put me out of the running for any watch over $200 ever again I think. Plus, in the unlikely event that someone mentions my watch, I'll have a much better story to tell.

Yeah, the Chinese homage companies basically ignored the 42. Guess it wasn't hot enough.

My guess is they didn't make it because of cost. Trying to keep the price point down. It's a much bigger watch so that means more Titanium. Plus it has a helium escape valve, more cost. And I guess to be fair, most people probably do like the smaller size better than the 42. Like you though, I would rather have the 42.

When you first upload a video, it is only going to be available in low def for a while. Should be available in 720p now. Just take your playback off of auto. KZbin thinks my videos are perfectly fine in 360.

Octopus seems like it was designed and created by a watch lover. IXDao seems to created by a bored accountant. Octopus Kraken is a good name, IXDao is a skin rash one might get down low after visiting Thailand for some night time fun.
