What’s realty intriguing is that from the bass lines I’ve listened to so far from his post-Beatles career, he seems to play his bass lines a lot more sterile for lack of a better term. It’s not bad by any means, Silly Love Songs and Band On The Run still are amazing and have solid iconic bass parts. But I think it probably means that once he started to play all the instruments on songs, he probably gave them all equal attention which means he wouldn’t have given the extreme amount of finesse he would’ve been able to in his Beatles career since back then he was mostly on the bass. Like Lovely Rita is one hell of a dynamic one, and Hey Bulldog is just so groovy. Macca is always gonna be one of the most influential players in music history, not to put the other Beatles members lower, but Paul is simply a literal one man band.
