Octothorpe Redesign Series EP. 5: Prototypes V9 through V11

Episode 5 of our Redesign Series for the 2025 Octothorpe!
Stay tuned for the for a comparison video of the original Octothorpe vs this new design as well as a final Product video for the 2025 Octothorpe.
Though the Octothorpe has undergone a couple redesigns and many small tweaks over the last decade, it has gone relatively unchanged for the last 5 years. However, the way people use a disc golf bag, as well as Pound’s design capabilities have evolved over that time. Our goal with the new Octo was simple: update the design to better suit the needs of the modern disc golfer.

I have a 2022 Octothorpe, and love it. Somehow after these builder/design series videos, I am finding myself trying to justify a Vagabond and a 2nd Thorpe - haha - good job Levi

The pain of having just bought an Octo in 2024 and then seeing this series begin and seeing how cool the redesigns have been, cannot be overstated! Love my bag, literally told my wife “this is the last bag I will ever need” as a way of justifying the cost of a custom to her, and I truly believed it until these videos started coming out. I so wish I could get the new one.

As the Owner/Designer, that is honestly the hardest thing for me and I really struggle with disappointing people because I truly care about our customers. However, we do our best to make things backwards compatible, like the Caddy, and we don't want to stop innovating, so it's unfortunately unavoidable. Thank you for your support! Great job on the redesign for both style bags! Dig the new insert for the main compartment, and the extra pockets in front.

I think the redesign features are awesome, and I'm personally very excited. With the additional materials, will the stock Octo's come in at a higher price point compared to current Octo's? If pricing info isn't available for share at this point, I totally understand. Thanks!

Heck yeah! We've worked really hard to absorb all the rising material costs since the pandemic and are very happy to say we won't be raising the price this year - still $449.99.

Question, so when is the disc tray insert and the new cup holder insert going on sale? Because those are literally my only two complaints with my pound bag over these years is the cup holders not wide enough to fit in the side pocket because my 40 oz just tips over and then the sagging when dragging the bag around lol Only two things I complain about and you're fixing them it's delightful I can't wait to pick up this stuff

the new Insert doesn't really fit in the current/older Octos, but the Caddy (disc tray) does! If you have an Octothorpe, it might be worth trying an Octo-Haul Insert which will fit in the haul pocket and accommodate a larger bottle better

@PoundDiscGolf by doesn't really fit. You wouldn't recommend doing whatsoever or you could fit it in there and make it work? Or with the older octothorpes it'd be better just to buy the haul variant? And also when is the new stuff going on sale?

@@Smurffies I wouldn't recommend trying to fit the new Insert in the current/old bags - the foam gets deformed because the haul pocket isn't big enough. The Octo-Haul Insert will work in your current Octothorpe though. pounddiscgolf.com/products/octo-haul-insulated-insert

now with the octothorpe being so big it feels like you need something between it and the rufus, i don’t carry that many discs and other gear but also have more than a rufus. This is why i feel stuck with the (other company) smaller bag
