I have always wanted giant gold hoops but couldn't afford them. Then I realized from this video I could MAKE gold hoops (with accents!) any dang size I want - so I immediately did. I am making them while watching this again :D

Your right, Kellie! You sounded so sick. That’s your continued determination in giving to your beading followers. Thanks for the updated video and I’m starting a pair today! Love these earrings.

Thanks to your Oculus re-do, I was finally able to figure out just why in the heck I had a long 1" diameter dowel leaning up against a chair back in the dining room....doggone if it wasn't supposed to be cut down, and used to help in stitching the round ring of this design!! LOL Thanks, Kelly, for the very helpful re-do of this beautiful design.

I love these earrings! I made a couple of pairs along with your video a few years ago. I dipped the completed earrings in ProtectaClear, and they’re still stiff and as shiny as they were when I made them. You must have done a pretty good job explaining how to make them in the original video because I don’t remember having any trouble getting them to look right, and I was very new to beading back then. I kept one pair for myself and gave the other pair to my mom for her birthday. We both wear them often and receive compliments on how pretty they are all the time. Now you’ve made me want to make some more using bright colors! Thank you so much for sharing your time and talent with everyone! ✌🏼💜🛼

Love this pattern. I remember trying the original pattern and just gave up on it. Now I will do it again. Thank you for the re-do.

Thank you for your videos and ideas. Actually, I did mine with Miyukis entirely and no dowel and I am very happy with the outcome. Your explanations are simply great!

Thank you so much for posting your tutorials! I love these earrings and both tutorials you made are excellent!!! But, for the life of me, I can not get the outer ring to work!!! Argh!!! I consider myself an advanced beader when it comes to peyote stitch. I’m using Toho 15s and non-opaque Delicas. I started with 72 of the 15s. I switch sides. I used a 1” dowel that I measured. I know to tug only gently enough to pop the bead into place. The 15s go great. The first row of Delicas go great. And then…it goes all wonky on me. :-( I’m going to try one more time with a different Delica color and see if that makes a difference. Maybe the 5th time is a charm…wish me luck!!!

If you could focus in on the beads while you talk if would help so much. Trying to imagine what you’re talking about vs. seeing (up close) what you’re talking about means everything.

Can’t say 100% as I’ve not tried it. I would do a small test strip in it to try before I dipped the whole piece.

Wonderful! thank you for your tutorials! 😊 Question: Have you tried using floor wax as a stiffener for finished pieces? A beader suggested this, for things like Russian Leaf. I'm gonna try it.

Yes. Certain brands of floor wax will work but it’s becoming harder to find those brands in stores.

Can this be done with sterling silver beads or with amethyst beads? If so, which beads would you recommend? I've seen really nice ones on Etsy by Karen Hill but I'm not sure if they would fall into place to make a nice even surface. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks Kelly for this update. I checked my wooden dowel and it is 1.25 inches so in order to do the ring, I would need to increase the ring of seed beads from 72 to 76. Does that sound correct to you? I am thinking that as long as it is divisable by 2 it should still work. Thanks for your help
@deborahlittlefield7435
@deborahlittlefield7435 2 жыл бұрын
I just tested it and it requires 90 beads for a 1.25 dowel circumference.

Can you make this on a smaller dowel rod? One with a smaller diameter?
@offthebeadedpath
@offthebeadedpath 2 жыл бұрын
Making it smaller would turn it more into a toggle size ring. I would suggest you watch my beaded toggle video to see how they are made and the bead counts. No dowel is needed.
