I wanted to add some things here: 1) I dove into the settings more. I recommend accurately setting up your guardian system and just turning down how aggressively it displays the walls in the settings. I no longer encourage you to make the guardian setup larger than needed. Just tweak the settings. Much safer/better! 2) 90hz has been enabled in a lot of games now! Enjoy!! 3) Oculus has added "Oculus Move" which counts your calories burned through the movement of your headset and controllers. Seems to work really well for tracking your fitness and energy burn! Try it out!

I tried out one at my buddy's place the other day. I was still under the impression that VR sets need room sensors. Seeing him setup the virtual play area, and then poking my head out to see the rest of the room mid-game, beside it being my first VR experience, was mind-blowing. Growing up as a millenial-gen z cusper, technology doesn't surprise me often, but wow. This is crazy.
@hurricane98512 жыл бұрын
The powerful ones need room sensors still, Like a valve index which is about $1000 USD. valve index comes with full finger tracking and a much better headset, and since it also tracks your movement room-scale you would also need a bigger play area so it comes with the 2 sensors that can be set up 10m x 10m. quest 2 is still a great headset, and being able to use it wireless puts it above index in a few spots (no tripping over wires in vr, lol) but you would immediately notice the differences if you were playing a game in the quest 2 then switched over to the index.

I was really nervous at first getting this thing however it has been awesome so far. Im actually writing this review from my quest 2. Im truly impressed with it and it came before christmas too! It took some doing going around, scouring the internet trying to find one but once I did it was all good. I just know my daughter (and me lol) are gonna love this thing!
@johnhanson79914 жыл бұрын
Your review was the best of all I've seen - good enough that I subscribed. Thank you. The answer to the 2 hour used before recharge came to me from the "Anker Power Bank" my daughter gave me last year. The battery cost $32 and the power cord for the Quest 2 another $8 ( I could have bought the Anker lite for $22). The battery goes in my pocket so not tied to anything and I've gone 4 hours with power left over...a very cheap answer to unlimited power as far as I am concerned.

The nice thing about the quest 2 is that you can use it as stand alone or with USB-C 3.0 you can use it as a Oculus Rift to play games on the PC as well. Been playing Half Life on steam with the quest 2. very fun experience. The newest update is pretty cool which you can use your hands instead of the controllers.

As a 15yr old guy whos had the quest 1 and 2, I can say that on both headsets, you definetley dont NEED to mod your quest (1 or 2). The quest 1 headstrap is very comfortable and after 2 years of use it never broke or hurt my head. Exact same with the quest 2. If your not some unusually shaped person with different needs, you wont need a new headstrap at all. I get on to have fun and get off once my battery is dead. The 2.5 hrs is more than enough especially if your doing games like pavlov or Rec room.

People lowkey worried about Facebook offering them specialized ads lol
@damionsanchez7914 жыл бұрын
For a lot of people its not the personalized ads that make them hesitant to buy the Quest 2. It's the simple fact that facebook is requiring u to tie ur real identity to ur online persona. This coupled with the fact that making a fake account could get u banned, brick ur Quest 2, and get rid of any games u purchased on the headset personally deter me from buying the headset. That and I'm definitely not sending ANY corporation, not just facebook, my real government issued ID to prove that I'm myself.

I on the other hand can't afford to buy a second Quest 2 if facebook bricks mine.

Its also well within their rights to restrict ur access to the headset either permanently or temporarily. Just read through the oculus terms of service.

Are there any great simulators that are Quest native? (Racing, Flight, Space, etc?) I’d buy it in a heartbeat if I could play Elite Dangerous, Real Racing 3, or a quality flight sim. My gaming PC is an i7 3770k w/ 970 gtz (SLI) , so probably a bit too slow for VR.

Not impossible to get, not worth getting i would agree with more. They over hyped them way to much, people are having a fair amount of issues with them just look at how fast second hand copies became available and the main game most people wanted to play on them is an unplayable and buggy mess. @@angrysunshinebandit5114 i agree i recently got my hands on an Xbox series x and it’s great. Doesn’t over heat,120hz, smooth, the graphics are really good,etc. the only issues i had were cod Cold War would crash but it only happened once and it’s the games problem not the console and cyberpunk 2077 runs perfectly fine there’s only a few glitches like a characters hair going through the roof of the car or a character glitching but it only happens when a cinematic is happening and it doesn’t affect gameplay or graphics it just looks funny
