WARHAWK IS MY NEW WAIFU - P-40 Warhawk in War Thunder - OddBawZ

The P-40F-10 is a US Fighter in War Thunder. I had this plane side lined for a long time due to favouring the Naval Fighters but I thought I'd dust it off for a video and now I've fallen in love with it!
The P-40 Warhawk is a Rank 2 Fighter Plane that sits at 2.7 battle rating in the US Tech Tree. It's really fast for its BR, turns great, does extremely well in the vertical and rolls good too. It's hard to say I don't like something about this plane other than the rudder can feel strange at times.
The US Warhawk has several different variants in game but I chose the P40 F10 to use in the video. It has 6 .50 cal machine guns that have ground belts the easily dispatch most tanks and open tops in the game. It also has 3 bombs. Two 100lb bombs and one big 500lb bomb. This makes it the best choice fighter for your US 2.7 lineup!
The P40 Warhawk is one of those planes that's a MUST have for your US tech tree and could even be considered overpowered for its role.

I'm fairly certain now that the secret to Odd's invincibility is him saying "I'm dead for sure here" because every time he says it he clutches a tank shot, gets a triple-spaa kill when they're all shooting at him and takes no damage, or survives a massive hit.

The M3 Lee, such an underrated vehicle especially with its 75 that’s better than the bis’s and a 37 that does a ton of damage plus it’s got a 6 man crew, I’d love to see a solo video with it it’s one of my favorite American mediums almost more than the Sherman

You should try the A36, everyone goes for the gunpods that turn it into a brick, but with "only" 6. 50 cals it's a low altitude monster. It can easily get to 500 kph on the deck. Versus late biplanes.

P-40s were such big planes because they were built around an absolutely _massive_ engine and an even more absolutely massive compressor for it, they were designed as high altitude long range interceptors (think high-altitude P-38) and didn't really need to make allowances in their design for anything other than air to air combat since there were already plenty of other planes for those roles. funnily enough the most famous ones weren't actually all that nimble or long range because the squadron in question stuck a couple tons of armor on there so they could afford to fly into head to heads with escort squadrons and the gun emplacements of bombers: they didn't need the long operation range the plane was designed for so they stuck a bunch of armor on there and planned to just keep making looooong passes while going too fast for the escorts to follow, ended up with some insane KtD ratios even going by the records kept by the people they were shooting down. ^uh, that last bit means more than it sounds. a LOT more: military records on downed targets are _utterly_ unreliable due to complete nonsense like considering a bomb that lands anywhere within 5 miles of the target to be a hit or an officer writing up a report on a downed aircraft on the grounds that the aircraft was smoking...out of it's exhaust ports. the more propaganda surrounding a war the more nonsensical the specifics of what counts for a tally mark are and the more unreliable the totals of those dubious tallies get until you get to the point where you have germany claiming to have blown up more tanks in one year than have been produced within the history of ever. and governments being governments it's not like they are ever willing to set those records straight after the war is over even on something as simple as casualty reports, let alone who deployed what where and how much of their stuff got blown up when. let alone how many times they set fire to a nice little town in the countryside or how many of those bombs actually _were_ supposed to land in population centers instead of on factories and airfields and bridges.

If you bind the 37 and 75 gun controls to different keys, it can do some work.

Because your 75mm will be in-operated if a gunner is knocked out until you replace him again. And by replace, I mean replace using crew replenishment since the tank will prioritize 37mm gunner over 75mm. The tank is too much under-armored to take shots vs Pz4 F2 or T-34 where your 37mm might ineffective against them frontally. 6 crew members mean nothing if an APHE or APCBC get through the frontal can take out 5-6 in 1 try.

Hey Odd! Love the vids, they look a lot cleaner and faster with the higher FPS! I have some suggestions for fun and effective lineups! The king of King tigers: the Tiger II H 10.5, an absolute beast, combined with the Panther II, possibly the ru251 and me262 with the 50mm gun. Personally imo the most fun mid tier lineup in the game is the french 7.3, with the AMX50, AMX50-Foch, AMX13-90, AML90, (Somua SM). Easily one of the strongest 7.3 lineups in the game! Would love to see you give any of these tanks or lineups some love!

I like the p400 in arb. It has good guns but doesn’t turn very well. I’m kinda good at the game for playing on console so I don’t turn fight, I boom and zoom. I know it’s good in grb as well because of the weapons and I think it has rockets which you would be good with. But good vid as always

The sea mine has a lot of explosives but no fragmentation. I have often placed sea mines right next to an enemy. In the explosion, all enemies within range of the explosion were knocked down, but they were not damaged. The 500 pound bomb, or the 250 pound bomb, is far more effective than the sea mine. Even if they contain less explosives.

Hey odd! So i was wondering what kind of belts you prefer for the .50 cals and why? I'm experimenting with a few of the belts and so far universal is my favorite overall, followed by stealth. P-40E and F have about the same top speed unboosted at low altitude, but the F has much better WEP. Its about the same speed as a Spitfire or 109E, the real speed demons are planes like the Corsair, Typhoon, LaGG-3-66 and Ki-44-II. It probably seems fast if you're used to the F4F though.

you should play the yak 1 . Its about the same br (2.3 i think), good speed, good turn speed and a 20mm that will end most planes at that br in a few shots and 2 7mm.
