when you've been playing war thunder long enough you get really good at estimating the distance for LD shots I still surprise myself sometimes when I get a long-distance kill on the first shot when I'm playing below BR 7.0. Howitzers on the other hand I swear I cant land long-distance shots to save my life

The KV-2 Zis 6 used to do more post pen damage before the whole ammo nerf bat that either destroyed some shells that should do more. And buffed ones that should not do more damage. And it used to have 193mm of pen. It was a fun tank too drive and just snipe or if you felt stupid try and rush and flank in the process.

I would say that the breach is an integral part of loading a round into " tHe bReAcH " and would necessitate a repair before said task could be completed .

Basically, if the gun's not already loaded when the breach is ruined....you can't exactly load it until it's fixed. A dead breach right after you've fired is basically worst-case scenario short of being dead, period.

It might be an interesting idea to have a crew "bail out" rather than the current "jump out" where there was a random chance of crew injury/death while escaping. If the vehicle was abandoned and not destroyed within a time frame you could 'Reoccupy' during the match, or 'Recover' at the end of the match and then a significantly lower repair cost for that vehicle if your side then wins the match. If the enemy team wins then they get a bounty for all the "capture" vehicles still intact or recoverable, but you have the full 'repair' cost of a total replacement vehicle so really a replacement cost rather than repair

I think a salvage mechanic would be interesting in World War mode, where vehicles that have been killed but haven't had all of their parts destroyed can be recovered and turned into usable vehicles in the future, perhaps after a certain amount of time.

Since the introduction of KV pack on steam, the KV-2 Zis-6 used to be one-shot wonder. IE if you can pen - the target IS dead, it used to be an atomic bomb with a little bit more pen. They nerfed it almost into the ground and i used to play it with Su100Y just for fun :D

Just my thoughts: with only ~160mm of pen, a 17 second ace reload, and 75mm flat, un-angled armor, this thing could easily go to 4.3 or 4.7. That, or Gaijin could buff the reload by maybe seven/ten seconds, since this thing has two loaders, and mark it as an SPG. Comparatively speaking, most of the opponents you fight usually have both better guns, better armor, and better mobility, so this thing could really do with some BR changes.

3:21 TNT Equivalent isn't accurate to the real effects that the shell has in a real game. Some shells that have more than 200g of TNT equivalent do less damage than other shells with a smaller amount of TNT. A clear example is the unlockable Pzgr. Shell for the Tiger 1, this shell has a TNT equivalent of 285.6g... That's more than the IS-2 122mm Nuke Shell. But in reality the Pzgr. Shell does less post penetration damage than the stock shell, the Pzgr. 39.

Hey Odd, you should try my Panzer 38t line up/challenge. You can play any tank you want as long as it's based off a panzer 38t. (Hetzer, marder 3, 38t, flakpanz. 38.) But you have to take the 38t out first and get a kill. (And a plane) (not based off a 38t, cause it's a plane you know.)

I miss the old penetration the tank had, was the sole reason I bought it, used to be about 200mm of pen that it had then when the new penetration system came out it got nerfed down to 160 mm instead which is kind of a letdown

Regarding it's bad post pen damage, I swear there's some other statistic they use besides explosive filler. The american 75/76 does as much damage as the german 88 which has like 3x the filler. Also, I notice the sphere it makes at detonation is more filled out on the 75/76 than the 88. Quite odd.

You can indeed punch through the UFP of a Panther at around 500 meters and under. I find that the mantlet eats all of this things shots, but you can 1 shot a Panther right through the upper middle of its front plate if it isn't angled.

The breach thing is new they "fixed" it with the new 100 MB patch. Supposedly they fixed the reload from resetting when your driver is out and the loader moves to become the driver the reload does not reset but now you can't load anymore with a damaged breach, so you win some you lose some?
