Stuart Bell no, the panzers with add on armour have received a HUGE buff, in fact they’ve probably received the biggest buff because before their armour was irrelevant and now they can bounce. The Russians have always had random bounces

Phly mentioning him spectating was like being the TC, possible video idea: I love the thought of doing a match playing only the gunner/driver views with someone (maybe this could be another +phly video) 3rd person spectating as the roll of commander. Maybe on a public server, or maybe just in a custom as a team duel thing. But I think that’d be cool. Kinda a sim-but-not-sim game.

Watching this new gameplay genuinely reminds me of back when tanks were brand new, it was just a few Russian and German vehicles, and tank duels were like slugging matches between two monsters. Face hugging/wrestling was the norm and the Russian heavies were supreme. I really like it, I might have to come back to the game and try again in mid tier

I swear even before the update when I ground attack from air in tank 2.3 RB. My kills dramatically decreased even the damn pumas I struggle to get a critical hit. I finally became proficient at top down attacks and was killing stuff other than armored cars and open tops.

From what i've seen, the Churchill mk.VII has benefited massively from this shell change. PZ. IV F2/H/J cant kill it from the front anymore, and even short 8.8's struggle at distances beyond ~400m. Soviet tanks are generally even more hopeless, with the exception of the high velocity 57mm guns, which are just barely small enough to squeeze through the turret ring gap. I recommend you try it out, the thing's a beast. Love the videos as always!

Hey odd, I suggest having go at T34 1941, at 3.7 it has not only deadly gun and good armour for angling but the BP 350SP can one shot panzer 4 H and Stug through there front armour. Absolutely amazing machine worth trying out.

Regarding that comment around the 20 minute mark regarding the explosion killing the crew IRL. Actually it probably wouldn't. A Challenger 2 suffered a breech failure that resulted in propellant charge gasses from firing the main gun to blow back into the tank where it detonate more propulsion charges the loader had in his lap, (somthing they're not supposed to do). It disabled the entire crew and 2 died a day later of injuries. But it wasn't immediately fatal to the crew, (And the charges in the bins where not detonated). Given even the largest HE filler in a shell creates a fraction of the over-pressure of multiple propellant charges it's unlikely to create a fatal over-pressure. As an aside, turret ring hits where generally an issue IRL. They wouldn't go through many times, but even if they didn't the shell stuck in between the turret and the hull would jam the turret.

You cant go through the side skirts on Panzers or Stugs anymore with short 75 it just bounces and takes out the skirt. There are other things (Panther mantlet), some tweaking is needed lol

@@titan_tanker previously, you where able to squeeze heat rounds through the holes in HEAT cages because the round only detonated when the very pinpoint tip impacted something. Now, HEAT will always detonate on the cages. HEAT cages are supposed to detonate HEAT rounds early so the molten copper "lance" has to travel through the air for a short time, greatly reducing penetration on the main tank.
