@@thursoberwick1948 you can look at the negatives of anything and say it's terrible. I look at the history of our continent and see that the EU brings more good than bad. Can and should it be better? Sure but that doesn't take away that together we achieved something that has provided the longest lasting peace in our history. And even now that war on our borders threatens our union we remain strong together. So yes, I'm proud too.

@@Ronnet The peace thing is a myth. The Cold War, of all things, created the peace. The continent became two blocs with world-ending potential. Norway, Iceland and Switzerland have never been in it yet are at peace with their neighbours. While Ireland and the Basque Country were split between members and in a civil war. Not only that, the institution has helped foment a major one earlier this year, which you mentioned triggering Russian paranoia. The EU and NATO helped START that conflict. It's utterly corrupt, as is being proven right now. It's a stepping stone to a global state, which is something which can never be meaningfully democratic since it will be so far removed from the citizenry. Democracy works best on smaller scales.

They didn't "produce" the lyrics, the lyrics are just pure translation of the original.
