But we cane and shall create a better version of the EU, with real democracy and a common identity. Seperate nation states will not be able to solve the great challenges of our time. This would be my way. Maybe its not the perfect solution but its is a solution.

I'm not sure - I'll have to go and double check; but I think this recording was made in Weimar, Thüringen...the place where Schiller died. I live just around the corner from Weimar...I'm sure this might be the old square next to the palace complex.

I wish the EU would take it further and actually start funding it's own cultural institutions kind of like how China does. That we have an alternative to Chinese state propaganda and American capitalist garbage. Some might call that "indoctrination" but I think we need to let go of that fear. We should take pride in our heritage, both the good and the bad.

Well, It's the EU's anthem and the music was made by Ludwig van Beethoven (I go to University where he was Born! (Funfact: Haribo was also founded Here (HAns RIegel BOnn) ) and the text wrote Friedrich Schiller (Most students need to Analyse at least one of His works in school). So, here in Germany they are pretty well known. I guess other Countrys don't teach much about them
