After Athens 2004, This Opening Ceremony was for me the most interesting and insightful to see! The whole idea of liberating from the limited circular space of a stadium and extending the Olympic Spirit to the entire city and making it one big stage was mind blowing. There was always the tension and anxiety of which building they'll go to next, who will perform and what will happen. My top moments and picks would be the Gojira Performance, bold and unfiltered, The Celine Dion and Imagine Performance, delicate and emotional and communicating what we lack in our modern world. The Cauldron was the most inventive and creative of all I had seen, floating and overlooking Paris as the games play. Genius concepts! LA28 and Brisbane have some competition.

This ceremony was so incredible in so many ways: we went through EVERY emotions! We were anxious (that a problem would occur), worried (because of the rain), curious and expectative, amazed, surprised, happy, astonished, cheerful, relieved... and I think the whole world cried watching Céline Dion 🥲 You liked it or not, but that ceremony was one of a kind, a technical and organisational prowess! 🎉 I can't wait to see the closing ceremony 👀

(j'ajoute que la réalisation, je parle de la réalisation vidéo... est franchement pas bonne ; des zooms qui ne riment à rien, des plans sans inspirations, aucune composition d'image, zéro rythme).

@@CEDRICKB je partage votre avis. Les caméramans donnaient l'impression qu'ils ne savaient pas où filmer et qu'il n'y a pas eu de préparation concernant la narration de la prise d'image. Par exemple dans la séquence Amour où le caméraman filme en zoom des performeurs entrain de marcher simplement sans être "en représentation" alors que lorsqu'il dézoome on voit qu'il vient de manquer de filmer la séquence de voltige juste à coté.

No… it was raining the camera was seeing only grey. No intention on Mexico. Even on French Tv. It rained almost 25-30mm in 3 hours. It « never » rains like that in summer in Paris 😅.
